Frank is tempting more than any other to keep and produce. He has been to opening meet and provided a lovely and mannerly day and jumped a few timbers, he’s been cross country schooling and never said no and answered every question asked.

On the flat he’s been schooled a handful of times, but reflects a horse that has been worked on for years. He hacks alone and in company and is not spooky in the slightest will lead, stay cool in open space and hack alone with no stress.

He loads, clips, farrier, catch, leads politely. He is an exceptional stamp of traditional cob and received a comment of “that’s a horse of the year show cob” and I don’t doubt it.

Open to any vet, excellent trial facilities, transport can be arranged.

A super pony for children and would be a great addition to any riding school or family home. Monty is an amazing little pony with a heart of gold.

He will happily take the smallest of riders and look after them, through all traffic open space farm animals and machinery.

Lily is a lovely ten year old 14hh cob mare.

Good points:

Brilliant to hack, will go in front or behind, will also lead off another horse. Great in traffic, doesn’t bat an eyelid at big traffic, Lorries, bicycles, motorbikes, bicycles etc, even helicopters flying overhead in a lesson did not phase her! She has hacked through the busy village of Appledore numerous times and takes it all in her stride. If she does have rare little spook at eg a barking dog or a bird flying out of a hedge she’ll just jump on the spot and won’t go anywhere.

Lily goes well in the school and adapts to different levels of rider. My tiny eight year old goddaughter did her first jump on Lily off the lead rein, and my 12-year old goddaughter had her first canter on her. She can also step it up for someone more confident who knows how to ask for more. She is currently mainly ridden by two eleven year olds and a sixteen year old who all absolutely dote on her.

Lily LOVES jumping and has jumped up to 90cm at home with a local teen rider. Out and about she goes best avoiding the warm up area, which she can find a bit overwhelming, and warming up in the car park then going straight into the ring. She’s getting more confident on her outings all the time and recently won a poles competition at a local show!

Lily has done some showing this summer which she has enjoyed and done well at. She came second in a local dressage competition and has done both intro and prelim away from home, with very positive comments from the judges.

She travels brilliantly and has gone out to several arena hires and clinics where she has behaved really well. Coaches always comment that she is a cracking pony with lots of potential. Her first owner was a dressage rider and has set Lily up to carry herself beautifully – she can go very nicely indeed when asked. She has also been out to XC schooling which she really enjoyed. I imagine she would absolutely love hunting.

Lily is brilliant to clip and for the vet and farrier. She has great feet and is barefoot all round. She will come with her scoot boots which she wears on her fronts for road hacking.

With us Lily has been turned out with another mare or sometimes individually. I imagine she would be fine in a mixed herd as she has geldings just across the fence and doesn’t seem bothered by them in the slightest. She is happy being on her own for a bit – if she has food she really isn’t bothered about what else is going on! She’s not the type to fret if the last to be turned out or brought in, or if her companion is taken out for a ride. She also travels happily on her own.

Not-so-good points:

Lily can be rude on the ground and needs a firm handler. This can occasionally include small rears if she thinks she can get away with it. I think this is mainly hangry-ness as she has been on a very strict diet the past year to get her weight down (she came to us very overweight). When she’s allowed to eat more, she’s generally much nicer to handle. She is also much better in a consistent routine, however due to my focus being on my other horses she has recently lacked the consistency she needs and this has had a detrimental effect on her behaviour. Ideally Lily needs to be ridden and handled regularly in a good routine with clear boundaries in place, and then she can become quite angelic and lamb-like! For this reason although children love riding her, she is looking for a home where there is a confident, experienced adult around to help with the handling, especially at first while she is settling in. We do have her in a Monty Roberts headcollar which helps, and she is a clever girl who responds well to clicker training and groundwork. For someone willing to put the time in she is a very rewarding horse. Our intelligent horsemanship trainer has always commented on how fun Lily is to work with.

Hacking alone, Lily can be nappy at the start of the ride, when ridden by a less confident rider. She will not do anything worse than planting and the odd tiny bunny hop, but it can be frustrating. When she came to us she had not hacked out much alone and we overcame her worries with consistency and gradually increasing her comfort zone, but it’s possible she would try this on again with a new rider in a new home, until she feels settled. With her current confident teenage rider she is now happily hacking out alone, even to the beach!

In company (or with a human on foot) Lily is an angel to hack and has taken many beginners for their first ride both on and off the lead rein, from adults to tiny tots. She has a lovely dainty trot which is ideal for kids learning their first rising trot. She also longlines beautifully, and will follow a human anywhere, if you don’t have another horse to hack out with, but have someone to go with you a few times on foot until you’ve formed your ridden bond! She is also sensible in open spaces as she’s used to going out on Northam Burrows, although she does love a good blast.

Lily has a few minor health issues common in cobs, such as mild sweetitch (we manage this with use of a sweetitch rug and fly mask for most of the year, plus vitamin B and Black Salt added to her feed).

She has the beginnings of mild CPL in her legs as many cobs do – this is managed with diet and exercise and keeping her legs clean and clipped and does not affect her.

Lily needs to be kept on a strict diet as she is an incredibly good doer. We have managed this by keeping her muzzled when out on grass during the day, for most of the year, and in at night on soaked hay. Sometimes we have taken her off grass for a spell such as when the spring or autumn grass is coming through, mainly as a precaution. We keep her fit by working her 6-7 days a week, with a mix of schooling, jumping, hacking and hill work. She is currently looking fantastic and I would love her to go to a home who would like to continue this, who understand ponies at risk of laminitis (she’s never officially had it but is most definitely a contender) and would like to keep her in good shape!

Lily is a very cute and much loved pony who is absolutely adored by her sharers but unfortunately at 5’9 though she does carry me fine and takes the leg up brilliantly, I just feel a bit too tall on her and feel happier on my bigger horses. Due to needing to cut down on numbers she needs to find a new home where she can receive all the love and attention she deserves. She will be such a fun allrounder for a teen (or confident child) rider or small adult, or could be a great first pony for a child with a more experienced adult to help on the ground. She has built the confidence of our young riders massively during the time we have had her.

Lily will be ready to leave us at the start of November, as I want her sharers to have time to say their goodbyes to her, but I am putting the feelers out now to see if we can find Lily her perfect home. I would be thrilled if she could stay local to us and her new owners could stay in touch.

Open to offers – home more important than price.

PANDA
Available with 28 day trial

13.1hh 10yo piebald cob mare.
Good conformation with smooth flowing paces.

Sweet natured no malice. Good to bath, load, travel, handle, farrier and vet. Can sometimes require a treat to be caught.
Loves attention and starting to soften and thoroughly enjoy cuddle time.

Ridden by all the kids, nervous and novice riders.
Snaffle mouthed. Doesn't get strong or silly. Reliable sort.
Hacks out alone or in company in front or behind. Good in heavy traffic never have to worry about little ones on board.
Forward but sensible ride, not whizzy just active paced. 1.5 type ride.

Pops a small jump honestly with kiddies. Will take the rider into the jump genuinely, all they need to do is steer. Very bold and willing little lady. Always comes home with a ribbon.
SJ & XC. Jumped 2'6ft with more capable jockeys.

Basic schooling but not yet been advanced as produced into a kids pony.

Has been out in group rides of 13 happy to be placed anywhere.
Been out competing SJ upto 50cm with first time jockeys and was absolutely brilliant. Came home with lots of 1sts!
Used for lessons for a variety of riders looking after them all.
Pleasure rides, never been spooky or silly away from home.
Beach she was brilliant swimming and cantering up and down with novice and nervous teens and kids.
XC schooling looked after nervous or novice jockeys and kept them safe. SJ schooling tried her little heart out popping everything.
Has also been hound exercise with 7yo child who has never hunted & she was amazing looking after him - as a mum I was able to breath (until he decided it was the best thing in the whole world and panda was awesome so he could go zooming off, weaving between horses, off chatting to people, jumping ditches & had no fear then I got a little nervous! But his massive rise in confidence was purely down to Pandas perfect behaviour).

Lovely little alrounder for someone to enjoy. Suit a child that is ready to go and have some fun independently and needs a pony to look after them.

A truly versatile and fun mare, who is ready to find her new home.

Victoria stands at 15hh and is a real “leg in each corner” type, being able to be ridden by children and adults alike.

She has completed all pony club activities, as well as hunting, beach rides - the lot! She hacks perfectly alone and in company and is the type that doesn’t need riding every day.

She happily lives in or out, and has perfect manners to handle. She is very cheap and easy to keep and displays no typical mareish characteristics - she will turnout with geldings too.

Victoria would make the perfect horse for someone who wants to go out and win at showjumping every week, or equally who just wants to hack a couple of times a week - she really does it all! She is always willing, never silly and a true pleasure to have on the yard. Victoria knows her job and loves it, she fills all of her riders with confidence and puts a smile on their face.

Victoria is very sound and recently passed a 5 stage vetting, she has no vices or blemishes. She is open to any trial or inspection.

Victoria certainly doesn’t look or feel her age, and is ready to fill her new rider with confidence and have fun!

We are looking for a loving home for a mare who genuinely deserves it, she really is the perfect horse and has offered us so much fun.

Dusty is an attractive pony who turns heads with her striking colour and 4 white socks. She is nicely put together, has clean limbs and good feet.

Dusty was lightly backed as a 3yr old before being turned away in a small herd for the winter. She was restarted at the beginning of this year as a 4yr old and has had a good all round education so far.

She has done lots of hacking both alone and in company. She has passed cars and farm traffic on the lanes and also enjoys hacking across open fields and having a canter on the mountain. She has been a pleasure to produce and although still green in the school she is willing and she walks, trots and canters nicely into a soft outline. She has started pole work and is ready to start learning to jump. She is bold and has had no problem crossing ditches whilst out hacking and being ridden away from other horses when out together. She has also attended some arena hires and has been calm and well behaved in new surroundings. She has been out to venues both with other horses and alone in the trailer, always behaving well and taking everything in her stride.

Dusty is such a sweet natured mare who is friendly in the stable and nicely mannered on the ground. She is easy to load and travel in the trailer, good to have her feet trimmed by the farrier and stands nicely to be tacked up, washed and groomed. She is not mareish and has been stabled next to and turned out with geldings.

She would make an ideal project for someone to bring on and have fun with. She is quality enough to produce for grassroots eventing/PC/RC activities. Equally she would make a super hunting pony or a lovely hack for someone wanting a nicely produced pony to enjoy.

Full history known. Genuine reason for sale.
Based with ‘Holly Bradshaw Eventing’ in Worcestershire.

Dakota is looking for his new home due to no fault of his own, he has an amazing gentle personality and nature.

He would suit a lead rein tiny rider or a rider coming off their first pony as he jumps and is schooling dressage confidently.

He is a lovely steady, safe ride with a gentle nature and snaffle mouth. Is not strong at all and listens to the leg but not sharp or silly at all.

With his previous owner he has shown in hand, XC, hacked and had loads of fun.

He’s great to catch, in the stable, clip, load, bath, lead and is a really good easy boy in general.

He’s very good in traffic, not spooky at all and travels well.

Measmand Black Pearl - aka ‘Ebony’. Extremely classy , 14.2HH, registered Welsh section D mare

4 year old , very well bred mare. Jet black with white socks and a beautiful head. Sure to turn heads and already showing how special she is even in such early days of her education.

Sired by ‘Trevallion AP Playboy ‘ - so the bloodline speaks for itself

Very straight mover. Equally expressive step infront and behind. Uphil step and desirable hock action in all three paces. Really does show class in her every stride

Well put together with good confirmation. Clean limbed and no injuries or vices

Ebony is sweet in the stable and easy , low maintenance mare to have in the yard. Can be quite nervous of you at first but soon comes out of her shell with consistency and routine. Loads and travels on a trailer or lorry. Live in or out etc

Broken and riding away well. Has a great mouth and carries herself. Is quite self sufficient in her way of going. Walk , trot, and cantering in the arena. Hacking out alone or in company in very heavy traffic and cantering around the open fields well. Showing to have no vices under saddle and is extremely switched on , picking things up very quickly. Shows desirable characteristics to make her a super pony with the world at her feet with further production. Capability in any sphere her new owner should desire.

Is typical of a Welsh , just broken four year old. Can be a little nervous and slightly behind the leg. Just what you’d expect of a typical baby. Is in full work and coming along at a very quick pace

Will be taking her hunting in the coming weeks should she still be with me

What a special mare for someone to make their own! Would like a knowledge home that has a job in mind for her as would be a shame for something of this class to not be done justice or go to waste

Would be a class all rounder 148cm type. Ideal for pony club , showing , working hunter , hacking , pleasure horse etc …. She really could do anything!

Hetty is a super pony who will suit a variety of homes I think she would make a wonderful mother daughter share, a 1st pony or a 2nd pony. Her greatest strength is how safe she is to hack she regularly takes adults and children out through a busy village and down to the beach as well as on local fun rides and has done plenty of mountain hacking. For all she is heavier cob type she’s not at all lazy making her an easy ride for less experienced riders.

Hetty will pop over a log or small XC jumps out hacking and on fun rides but has not been a competition pony in life so far. I’ve no doubt she would be great for pony club camps and rally days with somebody happy popping around the little stuff.

Open to all viewings and vettings. Hetty has done well this summer and is slightly on te podgey side but we are taking her out regularly to combat this! No school at home so happy to take viewers out hacking or alternatively if how she is in a school is important we can organise to hire one.

She comes with a full wardrobe saddle, bridle, rugs etc and I can help with transport too.

3yo Heavy cob gelding. Currently standing around 14hh (and 14hh wide) should finish off around 15hh. Broken to ride and believed to have driven lightly also.

As you would expect for his age he is green but walks trots and canters. But we mainly hack currently while he is maturing.

Hacks alone and in company. Nicely forward, not a bob the plod.

Brave, nothing phases him. Sane, sensible and straightforward.

Ready for someone to put their own stamp on him

Blue is a real people pony and the biggest character on the yard.

Easy to do in all ways but wouldn't be for a novice as he needs to continue his education.

Very sadly outgrown - Shane is honestly one in a million, has brought my daughter from nervous novice to competent little jokey who now due to growth sprout needs to look for something bigger otherwise he wouldn’t be going anywhere!

Shane is a 6 year old piebald cob gelding he’s 13h he is great at hack/jumping and XC, he was bought from a ridding school so very well mannered.

He would suit a fairly experienced kid or small teenager amazing for farrier vet etc he would turn his hoof to anything and would jump the moon if you asked him to, loads very well been to beach/local parks ect,

Shane’s a very honest and sweet pony can be turned with mare or gelding could live in our out.

Just had his teeth cleaned and feet done (he’s barefoot)

Big 13.2hh coloured gelding , 12 years.

Cowboy has competed at in-hand and ridden showing with great success including qualifying and competing at stars festival. He is super easy at a show and will stand on the trailer or tie up all day long.

He has also won and placed at dressage including BD quest.

Cowboy has also done fun and beach rides and will go 1st or last always in a snaffle bridle. He's perfect with traffic and farm machinery and never spooky or strong. Will hack out alone or in company (my daughter has hacked him on her own).

Cowboy is a really laid back , loveable chap who we will be sad to see go as he has given my daughter so much confidence and fun but she has now outgrown him.

Excellent to catch , load, clip and with farrier and will turn out or stand in a stable on his own or go out in a mixed herd

Appaloosa x Connemara . He has been a good companion for a year to my older TB, but is so wasted here as has a lot of potential.

Straight moving, very well balanced and trainable, with a lot of character. He is inquisitive, intelligent and loves attention. I have no help, no facilities and am too old to start him, so he needs to find a kind and very experienced home. My tiny private set up is very quiet, so he needs to go out into the world and have a job.

Good to catch, lead, rug, handle, regularly trimmed, wormed. passport and vaccinations are all up to date. I will ONLY sell him to a good private home or a VERY reputable dealer.

He had some long reining/tack on etc before I bought him, and I have walked him out near a main road a couple of times but never have help to do more.

He enjoys time in the stable and can be left alone for a few hours, but would not be happy in the field all on his own. His rugs will be included
