Frank is tempting more than any other to keep and produce. He has been to opening meet and provided a lovely and mannerly day and jumped a few timbers, he’s been cross country schooling and never said no and answered every question asked.

On the flat he’s been schooled a handful of times, but reflects a horse that has been worked on for years. He hacks alone and in company and is not spooky in the slightest will lead, stay cool in open space and hack alone with no stress.

He loads, clips, farrier, catch, leads politely. He is an exceptional stamp of traditional cob and received a comment of “that’s a horse of the year show cob” and I don’t doubt it.

Open to any vet, excellent trial facilities, transport can be arranged.

The time has come to advertise our epic boy Borris… This is a heartbreaking decision only being made due to Amelie’s ever growing legs. For anyone interested please only message once you have read the entire advert which is open and honest as finding the right home is so important. Absolutely no time wasters please, and adults only to message.

Approx. 12hh mini cob 7 years old. As wide as he is tall, currently ridden by a very tall 8 year old.

We have owned Borris for the last 2 years, and I’m aware before this he had been in work for just under a year. He is young, and his future home needs to be able to continue his education in a kind manner (as should any horses education be supported).

Pros: Borris is an absolute legend out hacking. On his first fun ride he was an absolute saint with a 7 year old jockey, despite my 16.1 warmblood having an absolute meltdown for most of the ride. Borris has beautifully babysat OTTBs out hacking (all road work), and last year he joined us Halloween trick or treating around a very busy housing estate (he’s due to join us again this year), not batting an eyelid at anything. Borris doesn’t hot up in open spaces, and has enjoyed numerous beach rides (including gallops) with a 7/8 year old jockey with whom he behaved impeccably. Dependent upon dates, we plan to take Borris trail hunting this winter.

Borris has proven to be honest with his jumping, with great scope, and he shows promise to continue further through the heights with the right education. He is particularly brave over working hunter type courses, taking on his first water tray and brush fence with no hesitation.

Borris hasn’t batted an eyelid at anything with games in Pony Club, and has taken on various tasks and obstacles with no issues (including bending poles falling on him)

Borris has regularly attended PC during his time with us, engaging in an array an of activities, and being used as a demo pony for anatomical painting.

We have taken Borris to numerous local showing shows where he behaved fantastically and has always been in the placings. He scrubs up beautifully with a mass of feather and unusual markings.

Borris isn’t spooky, and isn’t bothered by being taken to new venues or staying away from home. He boxes and travels like a dream, is clipped with no issues (though needs quiet clippers for under his chin), and is caught from the field by a child with no issues.

Cons: when schooling, Borris can buck (most usually when warming up) and he can pull at the contact; balance support reins have been great for managing this, though we no longer use them as my daughter has been managing without. We have had a very light adult rider intermittently support with his schooling, recognising that both Borris and his jockey are young. Whilst this adult hasn’t popped on Borris since June, having this support has proved hugely beneficial as the traits noted significantly improve following these sessions. For this reason, I would be keen to see Borris go to somewhere where there is an option to have an older jockey support with his schooling as needed. Borris is on Naked Horse Buck Off supplement which also really helps. I am confident that as Borris grows older and with the right support these issues will continue to improve.

Borris has taken my daughter from on the lead rein through to being fully independent and a super little jockey. Nonetheless, as he wouldn’t suit a nervous jockey I wouldn’t recommend he be purchased for a FYFR.

Whilst I do not believe he is trained to drive, I anticipate Borris would take to this with no issues with the correct training.

Borris is infamous in his pony club, and a firm favourite wherever he goes.

We have owned Zeus for 18 months. We were first time horse owners and he was our daughter’s first pony at the age of 9.

He has been a pleasure to own. He has been handled and ridden by our now 10 year old.

Zeus has been out and about and done a bit of everything. We have been active members of the pony club, including rallies and Camp.He has competed in local Dressage /Show Jumping Competitions. Done some XC, beach rides and on previous yard hacked out alone to Herrington park. Currently hacks round the farm including fields alone or company.

Always been safe and sensible for our little girl.

He is snaffle mouthed. Good to clip (except legs - requires patience- as with all cobs but we do manage to do this without twitching). Good for farrier (bare foot) and to load. No vet history. Up to date - Vaccines/Teeth/Worming.

Competed at 50/60cms and has jumped upto 70/80cm in the arena back at home.

Will be sold with a full wardrobe (saddle (new) , bridle, all rugs, saddle pad, fly veils and even grooming kit if needed)

Lives out during the day/Stabled at night - does like his grass. Can gCurrently on a farm environment he doesn’t react to machinery, tractors or all the dogs/animals that are about.

Would suit a confident young rider who wants to have fun in pony club and compete (he does love to pop a jump)

He deserves to build a new bond and bring joy to a new child and family. We really want to find him the beset home.

Please reach out if you have questions or want to know more about him.

Bramble - 7yro approx 15hh Welsh Section D mare.

Bramble was backed last year and has done a bit of everything including Riding Club camp this summer. She is very green but willing and has a great attitude to work.

She can be nervous on the ground and spooky but is genuine and loves to jump. She would not suit a novice or nervous rider, she needs a confident and experienced rider to continue bringing her on.

Bramble is good for farrier, dentist, up to date with vaccinations, worming, physio etc. Great to load and catch.

She is great cantering in open spaces, hacks well both alone and in company and is great with traffic including big lorries and tractors etc.

Would suit someone wanting to do riding club activities and low level competing. We have not hunted her but think she would be great at this.

Can be seen and tried near Badminton, South Gloucestershire.

  • Kevin is Mr Perfect if you don't mind having to use your leg.
  • Mr Reliable who is seeking new home only due to owner being way too big for him.
Kevin is a 14.1hh 7yo Cremello Cob Gelding who is looking for his new home due to his rider outgrowing him. Kevin is a safe ‘been there done it’ type who will step up or down for his rider.

Kevin has been in the same home for 16 months and helped his rider come from being nervous to canter to competing in SJ, Dressage, XC and attending many Pony Club Rallies and PC Camp. He can be a leg on type of ride to look after a novice rider or can be spiced up by a more experienced rider if needed.

Kevin makes a great shape over a fence and has competed up to 80cm and jumped DC and placed in 50,60 and 70cm Showjumping, he has jumped up to 105cm at home. Not phased by fillers or water trays. He has placed 3rd in a PC 70cm Hunter Trial and schooled at many different venues across the South East. Jumps ditches, steps, banks and water etc no issue.

On the flat Kevin has three athletic paces and schools sweetly up to Novice/ Ele level. This has not been his riders focus but despite this he has still placed with respectable scores at Prelim, including qualifying for the PC Regionals - scoring 67% there. With more of a focus on flatwork, I believe he could be competitive at Ele and even produce a Medium test.

Kevin loves to hack and goes alone and in company round the fields, on the downs, beach and roads. Will hack on the buckle or enjoy a canter - goes first or last. He can have the odd spook or shy but is known as Mr Reliable in the yard and will often be used to ‘nanny’ young or tricky horses and has been hacked by complete novices and people who have never ridden before.

He is also good to catch, clip, load, travel and shoe. Only shod in front and travels in both a trailer and a 10t lorry here. Passed a 5 stage vet to come to us and has only needed to vet for jabs and teeth since: He is Mr Perfect if you want something more woah than go. Safe, sensible and sound. Passported and up to date with everything. Tack is available at separate negotiation. Open to viewings, vettings and trainers. He would suit a huge variety of jobs including PC, RC, pure Dressage or even a solid happy hack.

Easy to bath

She is shod in front and brilliant for the farrier. Up to date with vaccinations , teeth etc. Hacks alone and in company. Turns out with mares and geldings but equally happy on her own. Super kind, easy and straightforward pony to have around.

Has done 2 dressage tests with good scores and lovely comments. Can be left for a few weeks with no difference. I would prefer her to go to a home where experience is offered to continue her education.

I have boxed her up on my own and taken her to several new venues with no problems at all. She has been to pole and flat work clinics and also been away at camp where she settled straightaway.

Fantastic and much loved pony that deserves a good home.

Lack of time forces sad sale.

Top class county coloured ridden traditional / dressage / allrounder

Seth has been previously proven in the show ring; In 2021 in his first season out showing he stood champion at north west champs in the Novice class. The following year he went out and competed a lot more and was always in the placings and even took champion again at north west champs in the open cob.

Not only does he love showing but he’s proven in dressage too.

Seth was with current owner 4years and he was sold on via myself in 2023 where he went on and competed in dressage.

In 2023/24 he competed in Team Quest and my quest qualifying for the regionals . With Individual scores average 68-71% at prelim.
He was then sold back to his original owner is 2024 where he’s done a few local shows winning every time out and show jumping to 75cm; proving to be not phased by fillers .

Seth is also a fan of his regular visits to the beach & fun rides.
He was previously based on a busy yard and is completely unfazed by all that goes on around him.

He hacks out alone and in company
Lovely straight forward ride and aims to please

Hes good for the farrier
good to bath and good to load

He has been out with both mares and geldings and is no issue and he is handled by young kids on the ground no issue.

  • Extremely sad sale - the very best home wanted for this special girl
Honey is a beautiful 15h dun & white 9 year old cob mare.

We have owned Honey for nearly 3 years and this is a very sad sale, one we'd hoped wouldn't have been quite so soon but due to my very tall daughter needing a 16h+ Honey is now looking for her next people to love.

Honey has competed in all disciplines and loves to jump. She has brought my daughter on from a 13h and given her confidence to compete at hunter trials, sj , unaff dressage, arena eventing and xc. She has jumped all types of fillers, water trays, coloured and rustic fences, hedges, xc fences and loves water, she isn't fazed by anything! She regularly goes to farm rides, arena hires, beach trips, gallops and out competing.

Honey rides a lovely dressage test and always receives complimentary comments and good scores. She is responsive off the leg without being sharp, works in a nice outline without being overbent and is straightforward and easy to ride with beautiful paces. She hacks alone and in company, never spooky, good in traffic (we don't have heavy traffic where we ride so can't comment on that but doubt there'd be an issue). She would happily hunt all day long.

Honey is easy to handle in all ways and is always handled and ridden by our 13 year old. She is never mareish and when in season doesn't change. She is good to clip (doesn't need tying up), load, travel (trailer or box), farrier (barefoot), catch, and bath. She lives out all summer and in at night over winter. Good with other horses, dogs, sheep, alpacas and people. She is a super sweet girl who loves to be pampered and cuddled. Her kind nature, fabulous temperament, lovely looks and great attitude make her a very smart allrounder who will try her heart out whilst also being your best friend. She is up to date with worming and vaccs.

Honey has been our daughter's world and this will be a very sad sale so only the best of homes need enquire. Please no timewasters or photo/video collectors.

She is for sale only, no loans/lwvb/payment plans.

Open to vet.

£12,500 with tack and rugs.

Daisy is a very sweet, 8 year old, mare.

We have owned Daisy for 4 years and along with showing her inhand we have bred 2 lovely coloured foals off her.

This year we backed daisy Who took to it straight away. She has walked and trotted on the lead rein but no jockey to continue her work. I have no doubt that Daisy will be easy to carry on her education off the lead.

Daisy qualified for STARS in 2022 in 2 classes but unfortunately due to having a foal at foot, wasn’t able to compete at the final.

We feel Daisy needs to go on and do a job and could excel in the junior ridden coloured classes.

Alternatively Daisy would be a fantastic broodmare. She has covered and foaled easy both times, she is an excellent mother and breeds lovely small foals.

Not available until after STARs

Savi hacks out alone and in company and is great in traffic, with farm machinery, motorbikes etc, she is good to clip, shoe, worm, dentist, she loads and travels in a trailer and lorry and will stand on her own, no bother, she is good to catch and is currently turned out in a mixed herd.

Approx 13.1 chunky gelding who takes up the leg well

Has done numerous Pony Club rallies, including Christmas rallies with tinsel and bells attached to him

Group hacks , has been foot perfect bombing around the farm, cantering last or first

Been hound exercise a handful of times, which he thinks the best thing ever

Has taken wobbly, bouncy riders in the school and has started working in an outline

Has a good pop on him

Been great in a riding school environment with lots going on

Is great on the ground , super friendly and easy to do and cheap to keep!

My god daughter and I have had a great time together and there is so much I can gush about him

HOWEVER

He has also been a little monkey
Being a child’s pony he has mostly done things in groups and in situations where he has been confident
When we have taken him out of his comfort zone and in new situations where he’s lacked a bit of confidence and not got it from his 9 year old jockey ( and quite rightly so ) he has shown some less desirable behaviour and has napped by running ( walking ) through his outside shoulder and at worst has gone up .
He has schooled alone fine

My goddaughter has always ridden through it with guidance , but she doesn’t want to and that’s fine so we’re in the situation of finding him a good home .

He hasn’t really tried it with the bigger more experienced riders or myself

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Castle Hill Black Jack
2013 | 14.1hh | Gelding | Dales Pony

A truly special gelding, “Jack” is now searching for his perfect forever partner. This is a very reluctant sale of a kind, talented, and striking Dales pony with so much to offer in the right hands.

Basic Information

Name: Castle Hill Black Jack
DOB: 02/10/2013
Height: 14.1hh
Breed: Dales Pony
Sex: Gelding (gelded 2021)

Discipline & Experience

Originally purchased by The Nipna Stud to introduce a new bloodline, where he sired 16 foals – several of which have gone on to qualify for HOYS.

Since being gelded at 8, Jack was purchased back and produced by the talented and very well-known Sarah Parker. I have been in contact with all his previous owners, so I know his full history.

His original homes previous had more of a high level showing focus with professional producers riding him. It was felt it was more suited as an allrounder with a more varied life.

He has adapted beautifully to a more varied ridden lifestyle and continues to thrive.

Jack has enjoyed a varied career so far, with a strong foundation in showing, dressage, hacking, beach rides and fun rides.
County-level and local show success, consistently placed and proven quality.

Temperament & Personality

Jack is a kind-hearted, genuine pony with not a bad bone in his body.
Affectionate, intelligent, and quick to learn.

He can be cheeky at times but thrives with routine and consistency and boundaries. He Loves attention, enjoys pampering, and is safe enough to carry small children when asked.

He would truly excel in a 1-to-1 home where he can build a strong partnership.

A good doer – happy living in or out, alone or in a herd. Despite being stabled and turned out next to mares, he couldn’t be less bothered and regularly hacks out with both mares and geldings. You would never know his was previously a stallion!

Due to his later start under saddle, he has low mileage and is still a little green in places but shows excellent potential with the right level rider, time and empathetic yet firm partner.

Training & Handling

Good to shoe, clip and catch.
Excellent with the farrier, dentist and vet.

Well-mannered on the ground providing consistent but clever enough to test a novice – thrives with confident, consistent handling.

Health & Maintenance

5-stage vetting undertaken in 2022 (available for viewing)
No ongoing health issues or maintenance requirements
Up to date with vaccinations, teeth, farrier, physio, and saddler

He has transitioned beautifully from a structured mainly schooling and showing life to a natural herd environment with plenty of forage and freedom.

Rider Suitability

Jack would suit a competent, confident rider who can offer him boundaries, consistency, and encouragement as he can sometimes lack confidence. But he does hack alone and in company

He is not a “novice project,” but he is a genuine, safe pony in the right hands.

Would excel in a varied home enjoying hacking, showing, and fun outings.
Has previously jumped (not with current owner) and would enjoy a rider keen to explore this further.

Achievements & Highlights

16 offspring sired at The Nipna Stud – proven quality bloodlines
Strong county-level and local level record with multiple ribbons
Last show outing: Reserve In-Hand Champion & Ridden Champion
Stunning presence, correct conformation, and true-to-type movement

Price & Location

£14,000 ONO – negotiable for the perfect home
Tack and rugs available under separate negotiation

Based in East Sussex.

The Right Home

This is a heartbreaking and reluctant sale.

I am focusing on bringing on my younger Dales, and Jack deserves the time and consistency to truly shine that I am not able to offer him, I just want the best for him.

Potential homes will be carefully vetted – Jack will only go to someone who can offer him the love, attention, and fulfilling, varied lifestyle he deserves.

Castle Hill Black Jack is a rare opportunity to own a top-quality Dales gelding with a proven show record and endless future potential.

Serious enquiries only, no LWVTB, open to vetting.

The most important thing for Jack is to find his forever home that he can enjoy and thrive with a best friend to have the best life together.

I am not in a rush to sell him and he will only go to the most suitable home.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

100’s of photos and videos available on request.

13hh traditional piebald traditional cob mare 10yrs

Fun and forward going little cob who was done a bit of everything. As wide as she is tall so takes up the leg well!

Bella is a lovely girl who thrives on having a job to do. She is currently owned by an older lady who bought her as a happy hack and while she is very good when in regular work she doesn’t suit the part time life style that her owner requires, she would rather be in a routine and worked than left in the field and ridden once a week. She is a well schooled, forward thinking ride and definitely not a kick along slow cob! She is nicely responsive and also will ride off your voice, believed to have previously driven but we haven’t tried this. Good breaks in open spaces but game for a good canter. Bella will jump round a small course, she’s never going to be a world beating show jumper but gives it a go. She will also happily pop a log out hacking. Bella loves her hacking and is excellent in traffic , alone and in company and will go first or last.

She’s easy in and out the stable, sociable in the field and happy to live in or out. Good to load, catch, shoe, clip etc.

Comes with some tack.

Seen at livery.

Jackson is a stunning, kind, and talented 5-year-old gelding, currently standing at approximately 14.3hh and still growing.

He is a super loving boy who thrives on attention and is always keen to come in and do something, even if it's just for a cuddle! He is ready to find his next partner to continue his education and reach his full potential.

Training & Experience

I have owned Jackson since he was a yearling and have professionally overseen his entire training program, including all groundwork and backing. He was professionally backed and has been backed for a year and is progressing beautifully.

He is working well and confidently:

Ridden Work: He hacks out calmly, enjoys polework, and has popped over a small cross pole. He is happy to be in work and is progressing well in his flatwork.
Groundwork: He is excellent on the long rein and lunge. He is very sensible and well-desensitized—I have done extensive groundwork showing him 'scary' things like plastic bags, and he has even had tarpaulin placed on his back and over his head, and will walk over it.
Temperament: He's a lovely horse who responds best to a confident rider to help him relax and flourish. He is generally very sensible but, as a young horse, is still seeing new things for the first time—for example, he had a slight reaction to cyclists on his first encounter but was fine with them soon after.

JOEY ESSEX

  • Joey is everything that you would want in a cob in miniature!
  • The most genuine temperament

  • Cob
  • Piebald
  • Gelding
  • 4 years
  • 10.2 hands
  • Joey is everything that you would want in a cob in miniature!
  • The most genuine temperament

He is absolutely adorable, has the most genuine temperament and can easily be handled by children. He is an old head on young shoulders.

Happily taking a child on the lead rein but would also ride off the lead. Joey is also broken to drive and loves this.

Joey lives out easily in a mixed herd, good to catch, loads and travels well, trim, bath etc. Not fazed by traffic.

A family home would be great for him, where he can be enjoyed by everybody, both riding and driving.
