A kind natured 4 year old gelding who is ready to start his ridden career.

This cob has a lovely temperament and the attitude to match, good to bath, trim, have his feet picked up and well behaved for the farrier. He has lived both in and out, alongside both mares and geldings, and is friendly to all.

Due to his nature he will take to ridden work well and will be a pleasure to break, he has begun lunging and takes everything in his stride, having a good mentality to all.

He is clean limbed and has filled out a lovely frame, he is an attractive cob.

Superb Jumping and Hunting/ cross country pony

Ref #: 347965
  • Forward and Fun with a bold and honest jump upto 90 cm

  • Forward and Fun with a bold and honest jump upto 90 cm
  • Extensively competed all Pony Club activities, eventing, team chasing and hunting with 11/12 yr old
  • Excellent to hack and open spaces. Suit confident child/teenager or small adult as takes up the leg

Darcy has 3 good balanced paces and a very bold and honest jump. She happily jumps 80cm courses with scope for 90cm . She never spooky and will jump all fillers show jumping and is equally bold cross country over water, ditches, steps etc. Fun and forward, but snaffle mouth. She is excellent to hack alone and in company and never phased by anything; dogs, lorries tractors, hedgecutters etc. Easy to ride and lead and good with other horses.

Darcy has he has been the most fantastic second pony for the last 2 yrs doing all Pony club activities including camps, cross country eventing, fun rides, team chasing, hunting and even pony racing. She has hunted regularly the past 2 seasons with the Ross Harriers and really is the ultimate hunter; forward without being strong or silly and will jump whatever is in front of her.

Darcy is a real character and very intelligent and independent. She will happily stay on her own in the field or stable. She does need time to get to know a new person and can sometimes need a treat to catch. She is fine to clip her body and mane but is sensitive on her legs and head where you need a lot of patience or sedation. . Great to lead shoe, load and travel.

Darcy is a kind and affectionate mare, but is grumpy to have her saddle put on which hasn't changed in 2 yrs so just needs to be tied on a short rope.

Has been scoped for ulcers and it was totally clear. She has also had regular physio and has had no injuries or been sick or sorry. Up to date with vaccinations, worming etc Happily lives out and low maintenance.

Very sadly outgrown after 2 great years, Darcy is looking for a knowledgeable new home with a confident child, teenager or small adult to go out and have lots of fun. Not for anyone novice or at all nervous as she is a forward going, lively pony who suits a gutsy rider.

  • Professionally re-started, ridden away and produced for the past year

  • A true leg at each corner and fantastic stamp of a traditional cob

13.1hh 12 year old traditional cob mare.

She is a true leg at each corner.

I am 5ft9 and I am the rider in the photos.

Mya has been with me for two years now, she came to me with a very young foal at foot, she was a brilliant mum.

She has been professionally re-started, ridden away and produced by myself for over a year now, so has had a fantastic re-start to her education. She has been produced slowly and correctly and is proving to be a lovely all rounder who is super honest and always tries her very hardest to please you.

Mya is the most gentle and affectionate soul and is a very loyal little mare who will give you her whole heart. She loves a fuss and a cuddle and just spending time with you.

Mya is snaffle mouthed at all times and has excellent breaks! She can pick up a gear if asked and she is more forward thinking away from home but never strong or silly. She is schooling beautifully in walk and trot and works over poles and will trot over a tiny jump. She quietly pops into canter and her fitness has massively improved recently for me to start progressing her canter work now.

I have started boxing her up and getting her out and about and she is an absolute pleasure away from home, she loads and travels quietly, ties up outside the box happily, stands to be mounted and is very level headed about it all and very much enjoys seeing and trying new things!

She has done two Trec clinic’s which she absolutely loved and she tackled all the obstacles very boldly! She has also been to a pole clinic and was a superstar.

In her first dressage competition she gave me two lovely tests scoring 65.68% and 2nd place and then 66.14% and 4th place. In her second competition she did a super test scoring us 67% and 3rd place. In her third competition she scored 66.8% and 1st. At her next dressage she scored 67.5% and 3rd place and 68.86% and 3rd place. She always gets lovely comments from the judges.

She is a very special little lady with such a massive heart and I know when she finds her perfect partner that she will bring so much happiness and love into their life, someone is going to be very lucky to have her in their life. I am in absolutely no rush and she will only be sold to her perfect partner and forever home, she deserves the very best and in the meantime we will keep going out and having fun together until that person finds us.

She is up to date with everything, farrier (she is barefoot), fully vaccinated for flu and tetanus, worming and worm counts, teeth and physio.

She is happy to live in or out, she currently comes in for a few hours a day and turned out with two other mares the rest of the time.

She loads and travels well in a box, I have never had her in a trailer but I can’t see her being a bother as she loves to go out in the box.

She has a passport and microchip.

Homes will be vetted, I am looking for a forever home only please.

No novices please, as much as she is a very straightforward pony to work with and handle I would prefer her to find an experienced home who will give her the very best care.

Absolutely no dealers, no time wasters, no day dreamers, no novices, no joy riders, no riding schools, no loans and no payment plans.

Based East Riding of Yorkshire

If you go to Spring House Farm stud’s Facebook and TikTok you will find posts/photos/videos of her.

⭐️ BISCUIT – STUNNING 14.2HH PALOMINO COLOURED COB ⭐️

6yo mare | Fabulous all-rounder | Mother/daughter share | Showing potential

This is a very difficult sale of our gorgeous **Biscuit**, a beautiful 14.2hh palomino coloured cob mare, 6 years old.

Biscuit was broken at four before having a foal and has since been brought back into consistent work. She is currently ridden around **five days a week** and has already had a lovely varied education including **hacking, cross-country, clinics and fun rides**.

She is fantastic in traffic and isn't bothered by tractors or farm machinery coming towards her. She's brilliant in open spaces and is sensible at either the front or back of a group, although given the choice she'd much rather tuck in behind and follow her friends!

She will hack alone, but does prefer company and currently benefits from a confident rider when out by herself.

In the school, Biscuit has three good paces and is coming along really nicely, although she is still green for her age due to having had a foal. She can occasionally have a little nap when she first goes into the school, but this is easily overcome and once she's working she is good as gold.

She has also been ridden by a 13-year-old rider with additional needs and has taken such good care of her. She seems to understand when she needs to look after her rider and has always been incredibly kind with her, which says so much about Biscuit's nature.

She has **no rearing or nastiness**. She can occasionally give a little "twerk" when she's asked to work harder 😂 but it's short-lived and easily ridden through. She's generally very sensible rather than spooky — a tractor coming towards her doesn't bother her in the slightest, although a bird suddenly flying out at her can make her jump!

Biscuit has started jumping and has been cross-country. She enjoys it but would benefit from someone continuing her education in this area.

🏆 A very exciting first show...

Biscuit recently attended her first ever show and absolutely exceeded all our expectations.

She won BOTH of her classes and then went on to be awarded Reserve Champion in the evening performance. ❤️

She took the whole atmosphere and experience incredibly well and we think she has plenty of potential for someone wanting to continue showing her, alongside being a fabulous all-rounder.

On the ground, Biscuit is a lovely, affectionate mare. She comes to call in the field and is good to lead, tie up, groom and bath. Children can happily groom and fuss over her, and she is good for the dentist and to clip. She is passported and microchipped.

We think Biscuit would make a fantastic **mother/daughter share, competent teenager, small adult or confident novice with support**. She'd be equally suited to someone wanting to hack, attend clinics, fun rides, riding club activities and showing, with the potential to do more jumping as her education progresses.

She is not being sold as a finished, push-button schoolmaster. She's a young mare who still has more to learn and will occasionally test the boundaries, but there is no nastiness in her. She is kind, genuine and has already experienced a lot for her age.

The right rider could have an enormous amount of fun with her.

❤️ Reason for sale

This is a genuinely difficult decision and absolutely no fault of Biscuit.

My own confidence isn't where it needs to be and I feel Biscuit now deserves someone who can give her more than I can. I don't want my lack of confidence to hold her back or be detrimental to her progress.

She has so much potential and deserves a home where someone can continue her education, get out and about and enjoy everything she has to offer.

TEDDY – SUPER 12.2HH COB | 5 YEARS

Teddy is an absolutely gorgeous little cob with a wonderful attitude and a very exciting future ahead of him. At just 5 years old, he has already proven himself to be a genuine, willing and sensible little pony who is happy to give pretty much anything a go.

Teddy is a lovely *forward thinking but sensible ride. He goes nicely off the leg without being silly or sharp and is already becoming nicely balanced in walk, trot and canter. He has previously been ridden by an 8-year-old girl and is incredibly tolerant of a less established or wobbly rider, making him a fantastic prospect for a child wanting a pony they can enjoy and progress with.

He is happy to hack out alone or in company and enjoys getting out and about, making him a lovely little all-round pony for someone wanting to do a bit of everything.

He is still a little green in the school due to his age, but he is straightforward, willing and learns quickly. With a little more mileage and polishing, we think he will become a seriously smart little pony.

Teddy has only recently started jumping but has taken to it brilliantly. He is incredibly willing, enjoys his work and approaches everything with a fantastic attitude. We could see him making a super Pony Club / all-rounder pony, with plenty of potential to progress further.

Teddy recently made his showing debut, where he behaved beautifully and was placed in every class.

⭐ 12.2hh

⭐ 5-year-old cob

⭐ Previously ridden by an 8-year-old

⭐ Happy with a wobbly rider

⭐ Forward but sensible

⭐ Hacks alone and in company

⭐ Nicely balanced in walk, trot and canter

⭐ Started jumping and showing great promise

⭐ Placed in every class at his first show

⭐ Loves attention, fuss and being pampered

⭐ Fantastic Pony Club / all-rounder prospect

Teddy is also a lovely pony to have around. He enjoys attention and being made a fuss of and has the sort of willing, happy attitude that makes him a pleasure to work with.

He would be ideal for a child wanting a fun, forward little cob who enjoys having a job, rather than something that needs constantly kicking along. Equally, he is young enough that his new rider can continue producing him and really make him their own.

A very genuine little pony with a bright future ahead of him.

Open to vetting.

Serious enquiries welcome.

13.2hh 5 year old dun traditional cob mare.

She is a true leg at each corner.

I am 5ft9 and I am the rider in the photos.

It is hard to find the words to describe my beautiful girl Willow, but one thing is for sure… her attitude to life is truly infectious, you can’t help but smile when you are with her and every single person that meets her falls in love immediately. I will only let her go to her perfect partner, so only the most special of forever homes please. She will be sorely missed and I have been putting this off for some time but she is so ready for her next chapter and I know that she is going to make that one very lucky person so unbelievably happy and that is exactly why I do what I do.

Willow has been professionally started, ridden away and produced by myself for the past two years, so has had a fantastic start to her education. She has been produced slowly and correctly and is proving to be a fabulous all rounder who is very willing to turn her hoof to anything that you ask of her and very much enjoys having a job and being out and about!

I lightly backed her as a 3 and a half year old and then turned her away for the winter to mature. Then restarted her as a 4 year old and she has been in regular work since then, other than a couple of months break over last winter. She is such a lovely mare to work with, so honest and willing to give everything a go, she always tries her heart out for you. She is forward thinking, responsive to the aids and light in the hand. She can pick up a gear sensibly if asked and always has excellent breaks. She is schooling beautifully in walk, trot and canter and has started lateral work. She would effortlessly work way up the levels BD.

She is snaffle mouthed at all times.

Willow has been boxing up regularly since September last year and has been regularly attending pole clinics since then. She has also done a couple of Trec clinics and tackled all the obstacles very boldly. She has been on several Ride Yorkshire guided group rides hacking through the Yorkshire wolds and rides very sensibly with others, is happy to be at the front, back or in the middle of the group and canters quietly as a group. She has also ridden solo round Escrick park estate and is happy to walk, trot and canter on her own in open spaces, without being silly or strong.

She has been to three dressage competitions now scoring 65.68% and 3rd place in her first ever test (she had never seen the white boards before this) then went straight back in and won her second test with 70%. In her second dressage competition she scored 67.5% in both tests and won both classes. In her third competition she scored 67.73% and 1st place and 68.27% and 1st place. With lovely comments from the judges on all her sheets. She has also been to a test riding clinic scoring 67.95% and 70.23% with brilliant feedback from the judge and she was very much in love with Willow!

I have not jumped her up until recently because of her age. She has jumped a few small cross poles at home and a few little logs at Escrick park and both times she was super honest and popped straight over with no bother at all. She makes a nice shape over jumps and has plenty of scope and natural ability to do more.

Willow is a wonderful little mare with such a huge heart and so much to give. We have had so much fun together and it will break my heart to let her go. I am in absolutely no rush and she will only be sold to her perfect partner and forever home, she deserves the very best and in the meantime we will keep going out and enjoying having fun together until that person finds us.

Willow came to me with very mild locking stifles (they have never locked) I have worked closely with my vet and physio and followed their advice from day one to ensure that I have done absolutely everything possible to strengthen her. This is one of the reasons that I have kept her this long so I had a definite answer on whether she was going to grow out of the condition or not so then I could sell her with the assurance of this and I am delighted to say that she has grown out of it. And with everything we have done together, she has more than proved she will excel in any discipline!

She is up to date with everything, farrier (she is barefoot), fully vaccinated for flu and tetanus, worming and worm counts, teeth and physio (which she has had every 6 weeks for the entire time she has been with me)

True first ridden for sale

Trojan Warrior

12.2hh. 16 years.

100% in all ways. The safest pony you will ever meet.

What can I say about our blue eyed little boy.

We have owned Trojan aka Troj man, baby boy, monkey, for 4 years. My daughter was 6 when we first got him and in his previous home for 5 years.

Trojan has taken my daughter from a nervous little girl on the lead rein to a confident elegant rider galloping along the coastlines of Norfolk and competing in all Pc activities and local events.

I owe this pony my life for teaching my daughter how to love and ride, he really is apart of our family but unfortunately my daughter has now completely lost interest and it’s not fair to keep this special boy just to be a field ornament when he has the ability to teach other children how to properly ride.

He is the type of pony you would actually call a big dog because he’s just so sound and just loves attention and cuddles.

He’s an absolute stunner in the show ring with his beautiful long mane and two blue eyes. He’s a complete gentleman at heart.

He will stand there for hours being rubbed all over as scratches are his favourite thing. He’s just such a cheap pony to keep.

He lives out most of the time but is stabled in winter.

He does suffer with hayfever in spring so does wear a nose net when riding but does not need anything else as he is in his prime.

He had no other faults or medical issues.

He does need plenty of turnout as he doesn’t do well being couped up all day.

He is barefoot. Hacks alone or in company. Can live with geldings or mares but does love to have company so loves a herd he can be apart of as he’s such a great friend and role model to other ponies.

He loads straight into the trailer.

He is a PC all rounder well know in the Puckeridge hunt western community and often competes in dressage, showjumping and his favourite cross country.

He lunges well. Does a small amount of horsemanship. Just literally follows you around.

He is up to date with all of his jabs/ teeth/ feet.

He is not just a first ridden as I also ride him being 5’7 and 9 stone. he does step up when he needs too and has no trouble keeping up with the bigger horses.

which is why his next family will have him for years because he is the ultimate unicorn.

He’s such a fun pony.

He’s just such a poppet and will truly break my heart when our time is up.

He will come with all of his pristine tack and rugs (of all weights). (Not that he is rugged to often being a compact cob)

His saddle is less than a year old.

He will be going up for sale for 6k and would love him to go to a loving family who adores him as much as we do.

Minx 🤍🖤🤍

Minx is an 11-year-old piebald Gypsy Cob mare, standing at approximately 12.3hh.

Minx is good to catch, shoe, load, bath and is very easy to handle in every way. She currently lives happily in a mixed herd of mares and geldings.

She is an honest, reliable pony who has been a valued member of our trekking centre for the past three seasons, safely carrying both complete beginners and experienced riders out on the trails. She is excellent in traffic, around farm machinery and livestock, and is completely at home exploring the wide-open Welsh hills.

Minx does hack out alone but is used to going out in a group day to day. She is a steady, genuine girl but will pick up the pace if asked and she has done some schooling work in previous home.

This is a reluctant sale due to closure of our trekking centre and reduction in stock. We are looking for the very best home where she can enjoy the next chapter of her life with her new best friend.

⭐ Genuine enquiries only – the best home is our priority for this very special mare.

This is an extremely sad sale of our beloved 14h, 18 year old Piebald Mare.

We are looking for a 5 star, knowledgeable, forever home for our gorgeous girl.

Dolly owes us nothing as she has been a loyal part of our family for 5 years. She is never sick or sorry. Everyone rides Dolly.

She is super genuine and is very good to hack on the roads alone or in company . She prefers to be in front. She is good with farm machinery.

My daughter loves to ride her cantering bareback around the fields and she loves a splash in the river!

She is not suitable for a complete beginner as she has her occasional days when she’s more excitable but we always know when she’s feeling well.

She is easy to do in all ways, children can do everything with her, clipping etc.

Sadly my daughter has moved onto a competition pony and we couldn’t bear to sell Dolly so she has been at my parents home in Oxfordshire for a year, nannying a youngster. She might take a week or two to get fit and going, however we rode her straight from the field last week and she was an absolute super star as ever and was very happy to be back out and about.

We are looking for a 5 star, knowledgeable, forever home where she will continued to be loved to bits.

We are in no rush to sell her and she will only go to the very best of homes.

(Please note, I am away 5th-15th August so I will not be taking calls then but am happy to receive text messages which I will respond to on my return).

A beautiful example of a traditional cob with full mane, tail and feathers. She moves too! Most of what we have done with Rosie to date is hacking to get her confidence and to enjoy her work. We felt the school made her a little tense and due to her age and stage in education she was struggling to balance herself (as we all know the cobs do find tight corners tricky!) however she is very safe and forward going and even if she gets tense you’ve always got breaks. She’s not the type to ever buck, rear or bolt just occasionally needs to pause have some reassurance then go again. Marches through the village unfazed by all the tractors, buses and school traffic that passes through. However given her age she is not suitable for a total novice.

I am advertising now at the stage she is however will continue to take her on outings. This weekend I will be taking her to do a traditional cob class for some experience. We will also be attending hound exercise and fun rides.

With some time I feel she would excel in a few different types of homes. Someone who enjoys showing traditionals or even someone who just wants a beautiful, leg in each corner cob to take to the pub and down the beach. Whatever job she goes to do she’s ready for someone to make their own.

She pops a fence and can make a nice shape too.

All viewings and vettings welcome.
