A mother’s dream. You don’t find them like this very often, an absolutely outstanding example of a safe but fun and talented kids pony who has been professionally trained at liberty meaning he is happily able to be ridden with no tack, or just a neck rope, he does several tricks and liberty work from the ground and ridden, including liberty circles in walk and trot, Recall, Follow on, Park, Back up from Infront or behind, Fore quarters, hind quarters and sidepass away and towards, Spanish walk, Bow, Lay down and Sit.
Loves his work and always wants to please, listenens to his rider and keeps them safe.
Arnie jumps upto 80cm happily, water trays, fillers, ditches, logs etc, if you want to jump it he will give it a go. He has been ridden by an 11 year old bridle-less out in the open on a cross country course! Happy to fly round 80cm or step down and trot around a course of cross poles.
Is fantastic around a course of jumps, he can turn on a sixpence as he’s been taught to do one handed turns.
Would make a cracking games pony, his turns and stop/ starts are as quick/ sharp as the rider likes so for a competitive child who wants to win he will have the edge to him. Happy with all the different games equipment and can be vaulted on/ off in all paces.
He hacks alone and in company, is fine in all types of traffic, will bring his rider home safe every time, he has been used to nanny just backed horses and lead others from him to turn out. Good with all livestock, dogs, sheep, cows, pigs, donkeys etc.
Although most experienced with the pony club stuff, Arnie has also done western riding, and had been trained to stop off your seat, half pass, side pass, canter pirouettes, halt to canter and canter to halt, he’s also done reining cow horse training.
Would happily take a child just off lead rein on the odd occasion if he also has a better rider to do all the fun stuff with him, would suit an active pony club home. No health problems and is just a nice genuine sort that’s hard to find.
Loads and travels well, stables and turns out alone or in company, good to catch (on the odd occasion needs a carrot to catch), good for the farrier, enjoys a groom and some fuss. Spent most his life on a working farm so is used to pretty much everything. Well looked after his whole life, no expense spared, vaccines upto date, recent dentist checkup and physio.
He is a substantial 12hh, ridden in a 16” GP saddle so can also take a taller, older sibling or small, lightweight adult if needed to keep him in work during the winter months while kids are at school (he can also be lead off another horse if needed).
Arnie is with me on sales livery on behalf of his owner, he has quickly become the yard favourite and my 11 year old rider absolutely adores him, she’d never ridden a pony bridle less and Arnie looked after her and filled her with so much confidence in one ride! It is of utmost importance that Arnie finds a 10* home as he will be greatly missed.
Welsh type pony, no recorded breeding.
