13hh Welsh cross 12 year old( not 12 till November) Palamino gelding

After nearly 4 1/2 years of owning our golden boy, both children are finally too tall to ride him any longer.

Fara has been a super pony for both our children to learn lots on, moving on from their 11.2 ponies jumping 50 cm he has taken them up to 70cm at competition. And can jump higher at home and schooling SJ and XC. We have regularly competed at all pony club competitions, NSEA, working hunter, hunter trials dressage and arena eventing, Fara’s perfect competition height is 50-70, and we feel no higher as a competition pony. He is comfortable and confident at this height.

He had been placed pony club and NSEA dressage, Aston Le Walls school arena eventing and lots of showjumping.

Fara was part of the winning team at the NSEA grassroots championship at Hickstead, jumping 3 clear rounds.

Fara was part of the winning 65cm Bloxham eventer challenge team championship.

We have won and placed at lots of unaffiliated and affiliated working hunter class, qualifying him for the BSPS summer champs.

Previously Fara was hugely successful at working hunter with his owners before us.

He has been to pony club Camp, stay away shows, always being very well behaved and settled.

One of his favourite days would be a local country show, spent grazing arena sides and sharing ice creams with lots of kids, while competing in various classes.

He would be very happy being shared with siblings, as my two children have shared him hunting, and at competitions. He loves to be busy, but also happy having time off if his family are away on holiday.

He is super to hack out alone or in company, good in traffic, easy to ride in the school alone or with lots of ponies. He always wears a universal bit, with a flash or grackle noseband but is fine in a snaffle for dressage.

He is not a plod, he is a safe forward going pony and maybe more a 2nd pony after leadrein.

Good to turnout and catch, bath, clip all out, load and stand on the lorry, good with the farrier, cautious but fine with a vet.

His biggest love is hunting, we have hunted him for 3 seasons, from autumn hunting through to the end of season. He has hunted mainly with the Grafton, but also Pytchley, Bicester and Beaufort. He is a real goer, keen but safe and knows and loves his job, he really can jump nearly everything. Neat and clever over rails, jumped gates of roads and good size hedges. He is not for the faint hearted out hunting and if that’s the job you would like him for, than a more hunting experienced family would be best. He’s a gutsy little pony with a huge heart, that’s thinks he’s 17hh. He has great manners on the lorry, at the meet and standing while queuing.

Fara had a tumor and tooth removed from his upper jaw in Autumn 2020. A repeat X-ray 6 months after with a clean picture and has had the equine dentist annually since with no problems reported.

Fara had laminitis back in January 2021, and not since, he is easily and sensibly managed. but he will only go to the best and knowlagble home for this reason.

He is priced according to his veterinary history, but do not be put off by them, it is long in the past. He really is a dream pony to have fun and learn lots with. We would love him to go to a larger family so he can have a forever home. We would like Fara to go to a family where he will be used plenty, as he doesn’t deserve to be a part time pony.

Competition/ hunting bridle, breastplate and stable and turn out rugs included.

Twister is a mother’s dream pony, he has three beautiful paces. He has jumped 90-1m at home and 85cm out competing. Has got plenty of scope to go further as he matures.

Twister just wants to please and is so willing in all of his work. He’s done a prelim dressage test, combined training, unaffiliated show jumping. He has been to pony club camp with a 9yr child and done pony club rallies. He’s been xc schooling and isn’t phased by anything.

He’s gets bolder the more he goes out and more and more confident each time. He is still green out competing as he only 6.

Twister is as safe as houses, completely bombproof has never bucked, reared or done anything naughty. I really can’t fault him. He will hack out alone or in company. Good to shoe, clip, load and will stand on the lorry all day at a show.
Full history known. He loves a fuss and cuddles and just wants to be loved.
Has also got amazing breeding

Rolo adores his trail hunting and is ready to have adventures with his next jockey. He’ll happily stand at the meet, is good with hounds, pops hunt jumps and ditches with ease. Happy to be in the field, up front, or out the back.

Rolo has taken part in many pony club rallies, camps and local show jumping competitions. He’ll trot and pop around 40cm but also has the scope to jump 80cm, and has jumped bigger at home. Always bringing home a happy jockey and a rosette. He would flourish as a second pony for a confident jockey that wants to go out and have fun trail hunting in the winter and / or taking part in all pony club activities / NSEA.

Rolo is very safe in traffic and open spaces, happy to hack out alone or with others. He is more suited as a second or third pony simply due to the fact that he loves his job.

5* home only for the wonderful, fun pony.

Ruben is one of the kindest ponies you will ever meet. He doesn’t have a nasty bone in his body. This is an extremely sad sale as rider is now off ponies. We have owned him for nearly five years and my daughter has taken him from a novice to the super competition pony he is now.

He is fit, sound, healthy and ready to compete with a new rider. He is a safe sensible responsive ride.

Has jumped all of the fox and newcomer second rounds last year. He finished in the top eight for a few of the fox second rounds this year. He also competed in the newcomers second rounds the year before.

He is brave and never stops. He also has all of his fox double clears for this year.

He has done some unaffiliated eventing. He schools really well on the flat and would make a very competitive event pony. He would do a lovely dressage test, loves XC and would excel in the showjumping phase.

He will hack out on his own or in company. He is good on the road ad in open spaces and very safe.

He has no vices and is everyones favourite on the yard.

He is good for the farrier, clip, load, travel and is exactly the same at home or at a show. He is a true gentleman.

Jasper is a 15year old, 14.1hh perfect second/third pony. He took me from a quiet, nervous rider and has brought on my confidence for the past 3 years and has been on loan to a younger rider who has done a variety of things with him.

He is a super fast learner when it comes to schooling and would do a lovely dressage test. He jumps for fun, has proven brave out x country.

He has previously been an MGA pony however this has never been my thing so he hasn’t done any for a while but he does thrive in competitive environments.

He is most confident hacking in groups as he’s always had a smaller rider who needed company while hacking but will hack on his own. He will go infront or behind no problem, sometimes a bit spooky but nothing ever scary or dangerous. Amazing in traffic. He has never bolted, reared or bucked in the time I’ve had him. He’s a very genuine boy.

He is perfect to be shod, clipped, standing to be fussed etc. He’s a cracking pony who is amazing at helping young riders progress.

He can take a look at fillers etc but after he’s gone over them once will not bat an eye lid. Hasn’t done too much competing but with more experience in the ring has amazing potential.

Reason of this heartbreaking sale is no fault of his own, this pony has been a one in a lifetime for me however I dont have the time to do him justice with school and he deserves more than I can give him currently.

Please message 07793 9653140 with any interest, serious enquiries only, 5* home as this boy won’t be going just anywhere. Lots of photos and videos can be sent on request. aswell as price

The lovely Ruby is a very forward going School Mistress competition pony when jumping, my daughter only rides her in a snaffle for schooling. She’s looking for a confident, gentle rider that loves to win as she’s fast.

She’s 19 years young but don’t let this put you off, she certainly doesn’t know it.

This is a very sad sale as I just can’t manage 3 ponies anymore with my little one.

Shes never put a foot wrong, we’ve done stay aways and she’s impeccably well mannered and we love her dearly.

Due to restricted time and a young family, we’ve only been focusing on school equestrian training and NSEA competitions since we bought her last August.

My daughter did their first Junior BS show together 2 weeks ago at Felbridge with a lovely faultless round placing 3rd in the BN 90cm.

Looking to buy a cob between the ages of 5 - 10yo, preferably 14.2 - 14.3hh but minimum 13.3 - 15hh maximum

Mainly for hacking out on Dartmoor; I would do some basic schooling. And maybe some low jumps in the field or on the moor.

We own a 3.84 acre field in very good condition with natural and artificial shelter; the cob will need to live out.

As with our 3 equines we've owned, it would be a home for life.

Only able to travel Devon / Cornwall to view / ride one.

It would need to be easy to handle, good in traffic and have a lovely temperament and decent conformation.

A pleasure to deal with in every way, he is the type you love to have around. Good to shoe, load, catch, clip.

Very obedient on the flat. Would make a smashing little eventer.

Would suit a competent kid or small adult. He’s as genuine and safe as you like but he can give you a forward feel and will take you where you want to go. NO NOVICES OR WIMPS!

We want to see this pony go to a true competition home where he will be busy enjoying life. Has passed 5 stage vetting recently with flying colours.

Comet, 14’2 welsh section D 2013 , chestnut with 4 white socks.

On the ground : he’s a well mannered yet curious welshie, will happily stand tied up to be groomed for hours. Good for farrier, vet, falls asleep when being clipped, loves being bathed but watch out it might turn into a water fight!! He can “put his parts on” for the dentist however after 5/10 mins he’s fine. Amazing with kids, dogs, traffic. Very respectful of fencing. The easiest boy with routines, in the 7 years I’ve owned him he’s had a mixture of being out 24/7, stables at night and stabled 24/7 and I’ve never had any problems.

Ridden : as bomb proof as they come however he is a Welsh who has his moments (happy to discuss and show videos of these said moments) A cracking little pony who absolutely adores being in work. Just as much as he loves being a field ornament. Would suit a confident person who wants to get out and have fun. Comet has a very careful jump on him, point and go type. Very good at getting you out of a dodgy stride whilst still being careful. When it comes to jumping he is forward and very bold therefore NOT a first pony.
One of the best things about this boy is you can go without riding for a few days/weeks but still hop on and he’ll be just the same as where you left off!

This is going to be an incredibly hard sale for me and it is through absolutely no fault of his own as he is one in a million but due to personal circumstances this is what’s best for him. I have produced him from a 4 year old and he’s definitely proven to be a very special little horse. He’s also very low mileage, for the past 3-4 years I’ve done very little ridden work with him as I haven’t had the time.

He can be funny with loading but after persuasion and patience he will load just not always straight away. When it comes to traveling, I personally avoid anything with a breast bar, despite that once he’s on the move as long as there’s hay for him he settles. This is due to me not taking him out much. He was an angel to load in the first two years I had him when I was going out regularly!!

This pony has been everywhere with me, arena hires, busy shows, beach rides, busy 4* event yards you name it hes come along! None of this phases him one bit. Happy to answer any questions about him please do not hesitate to contact me!

Regardless of the fact he’s not “fit” at the moment, I’m happy for anyone to try him.

The most important thing for me is finding the right home for comet therefore absolutely NO time wasters or dealers. 10 ?? home only (preferably his forever home)
Would suit a mother/daughter or a family with children. Just as much as he’d suit a confident teen wanting something to have fun on.

Full wardrobe included, minus his bridle. Price negotiable for the right home.

Stunning Welsh section C for sale. Real headturner with incredible paces and breeding.

Duster is a 5yo welsh section C gelding.

Bay with 4 perfect matching whites and a stripe!

13.3h/14h with lots of filling out to do. He has beautiful paces and will be a winner In the show ring. He is incredibly well bred and has a Welsh pony passport

Hes very chilled and has no vices. Super friendly and loves fuss. He lives out Currently and is in a mixed herd and gets on with mares and geldings.

He's been to a few shows and been placed at every show.

Duster has been backed since a 3yo but taken very gently and only hacked until basics were established and then turned away again to grow.

This year he has done more hacking and has just spent a week with a professional learning the art of the arena.

He is now starting to work into a consistent outline and is walking, trotting and doing some basic canter work, also popping 70cm with great ease. He has a beautiful movement and a canter to die for.

He has also been taken out into the open fields where he was extremely mannerly and sensible in walk trot and canter.

Duster was purchased as a yearling and has grown up in a family home surrounded by children of all ages, one with learning disabilities and we trust duster to be loose on the yard with these children, as well as dogs ,cats, mares, geldings, shetlands and youngstock. He just fits in. Duster is good to catch, load, travel, be groomed, bathed and good for the farrier and dentist.

Duster is looking for a home that has the ability to continue to educate him, and take him on to be the competition pony he absolutely aspires to be.

This pony is going to be a very suitable kids/teenagers competition / pony club pony and is not naughty or silly, but he does need furthering in his education. He needs a rider who has a greater level of experience than him who can teach and guide him.

He's been handled by children and is very sweet. He is so easy going. Looking for new home through no fault of his own, really genuine sale. Please get in contact if you require any more information.

Ultimate all round Cob. Plenty of bone and Feather.

Phantom is the Ultimate Cob and competent child's pony. He is rising 7 but still young and learning and for that reason would be best suited to a knowledgeable home with an older sibling or small adult to continue his education.

He is NOT a first ridden. No nastiness or major vices but given the opportunity could try it on. Just not a plod along.

He loves to jump and has done all areas of this including SJ, Wh, Arena Eventing and XC. He excels in these and has been in the ribbons when competing in all of these events.

Great to hack in company, needs a slightly more confident rider on his own for the first few yards! Been to the beach, farm rides, always behaves impeccably. Used to farm traffic and animals.

Turns out with mares and geldings in groups and on his own. Currently stables at night in winter but has been out 24/7 in summer on restricted grazing. Doesn't change if left in or not ridden for a length of time.
Been to camps and doesn't change in behaviour.

Good to bath, clip, shoe etc. Can be slightly opinionated by stamping his front legs but always more than manageable. He is the ultimate character with his strange whinnies and little quirks.

Although good to handle he could try to take the micky if allowed.

Loads and travels no problem in trailer or wagon on own or in company and will stand happily all day.

For these reasons the ideal home would have an older sibling or small adult to hep continue his education and help with handling.

Home is of upmost importance and we would be more than happy for the potential purchaser to try him in a number of settings.

This is truly the hardest decision but my daughter is still growing and hes has so much to give to another family.

Any questions are more than welcome. We really do want the best for this amazing talented cob and any future homes will be vetted and references will be required.

Loads of videos available and references from instructors.

His price includes a full wardrobe of two saddles, bridle and bits, rugs and even trophy tails feather boots!

Am looking for an experienced pony for my 9 year old son who loves all pony club activities and trail hunting.

14.2 - 14.3 hh.

We live on a farm in Gloucestershire and do lots of hacking and fun rides, so goes without saying must be sensible in open spaces. My son will have a lesson every week and do pony club activities, so would like something that has come from a similar type of home. He would also like to do some pony club Sj competitions and arena eventing, so must be capable of jumping a course of up to 85 cm.

It is not essential that the pony hunts as we have the next step up for that; but looking for a pony club pony that he can ride for the summer and then pass onto younger brother in the autumn.

My son is keen, but wouldn't like anything too sharp or too whizzy, so am looking for something that has good brakes.

Knowledgable 5* home awaits and can provide lots of references.

Very much hoping to find Mr right soon, so that a partnership can be formed ready for fun summer pony club activities.

Look forward to hearing from you!

A real confident giving fun cob. 15hh Irish cob, Gelding.

Has done lots of trail hunting including whipping in.

Excellent with hounds. Jumps anything put in front of him. Would also be happy to sit at the back of the field and lead a childs pony from.

Loves hacking, brilliant in the heaviest of traffic alone or in company.

Has done plenty of fun rides and low level show jumping.

Lots of manners. Easy to catch, clip, load etc.

A real honest allrounder who always tries his best to please.

Lusitano ( on green passport)

A very very difficult sale of the most perfectly easy & talented young smaller horse.

Cremello Gelding rising 6 years 15h

A Confidence Giving Compact Youngster with huge potential for dressage/ all rounder / show / loves his jumping too.

A wonderful opportunity for the right person to bring on their own uncomplicated easy young horse; there is NOTHING challenging about this little boy, he is a pleasure in every way and will be a delight to own.

Camborio was imported as a 2 yr old by myself , as a buy to sell. However his gentle , kind genuine and very easy trainability has led to me keeping him ! He is the perfect horse .

Blue eyes. Cream coat with 4 white socks, and white blaze.

Camborio has a huge Lusitano neck and a lot of bone, he is a compact little powerhouse who will EXCEL in dressage or any all rounder discipline.

He has a super super natural walk and canter, the walk is a 5 hoof over track and the canter is so deep and seated that his hind leg almost touches his chin! This little horse was made for dressage, but equally loves his jumping proving scopey, brave and natural at all he turns his hoof too.

He is correct, naturally balanced, uncomplicated, easy and very loving with a spiritual and majestic presence .

His colour is absolutely stunning, cream, but when the sun catches his coat he is pearlescent.

On familiar regular hacks he’s excellent and brave going out alone with confidence, in heavy traffic, unspooky, calm, and very much a confidence giving horse, despite his young age. He is still young , so new surroundings/ unfamiliar hacks I always give him more time and often go a few times with a friend before we venture out alone.

Schooling he is doing AMAZING, with natural ability, straightness, rhythm, tempo and balance he is very easy to ride. Walk, trot and canter is very well established, counter canter and laterals were just starting; but he shows natural skill already.

He is very well behaved in the arena and enjoys learning and schooling .

He equally enjoys pole work / jumping and lessons.

He’s been to dressage competitions and behaved impeccably even while the bigger horses are charging around .He scores well and judges love him.

He does need leg to work forward , he’s definitely not over sensitive or sharp . He would not suit a total novice rider due to his age, and requires a rider who can continue to gradually build his education while enjoying his easy character .

He can be ridden only once a week and never changes his personality, never needs lunging before riding ; always comes out ready to work while being calm and respectful.

Camborio would very much suit a mother / daughter share , lady rider or capable child. I am 5’4 and the size match works well. He takes up the leg, and once fully mature he will be a stocky, muscular, big boned horse.

He has beautiful strong feet and a FULL set of CLEAN Xrays (including neck and spine).

This spectacular Lusitano is only for sale as I have limited room

He will only be sold to the right person, in the right FOREVER home.

Loads well done, travels well , been to competition and shows , shod , good for farrier ,teeth , back and feet upto date; absolutely no vices , a very very easy horse who would be great for someone needing a well behaved uncomplicated little unicorn .

Please no dealers. No P/E. No joyriders / tyre kickers /dreamers. His price is his price I will not negotiate.

References will be required .

Hutch is careful and willing with lots of jump, would easily step up through the classes. Still eligible for most classes so would be a good contender for second rounds/qualifiers.

He would suit a quiet but competent rider wanting to get out and progress up the levels to get the best out of him.

Works nicely on the flat in all three paces, snaffle mouthed at all times. A forward going ride but not strong.

Fit, clipped and ready to go.

Available on behalf of his owners. 5* homes only.

Based near Cardiff Airport, South Wales with good trial facilities.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.
