Absolutely devastating sale of Scrumpy (Thatchers Scrumpy Jack) our 13.1hh chunky pedigree New Forest Pony. He has been my daughter's best friend who has looked after and taken her from a complete beginner to consistently bringing home rosettes for showjumping, arena eventing, ODEs, Pony Club, local shows and so much more.

Scrumpy is perfect in every way. He is kind, gentle, genuine, reliable and always tries his best in every situation. We have done a bit of everything with him and he has provided us with hours of fun, trophies, sashes and buckets of rosettes.

He was a star at pony club camp this summer taking part in both junior camp at Craven Country ride and senior camp at Somerford Park. He did not miss a beat staying away from home and looked after my daughter who, at 10, was the youngest child there.

In June of this year we had a fab couple of days at Aintree as he had qualified for the ACE arena eventing championship.

Scrumpy is NOT a whizzy BS pony though. He is a steady Eddie who does what he needs to do but he can turn tight and turn in midair and save you if you miss your stride or head him at the wing by accident. He is very clever with his feet and always looks after his rider!

Scrumpy loves cross country and has been round Richmond and Northallerton jumping Hunter Trials, ODEs and Showcross.

In his spare time Scrumpy hacks alone or in company (often bareback) and is as bombproof as they come. He lives on a working farm so he's used to all machinery, sheep, cows and pigs. My daughter often hacks alone and I know he will bring her home safely. He will gallop through open fields and always pulls up with great brakes. Alternatively he will plod round on the buckle end.

Scrumpy loves the water and this summer on our pony glamping weekend he happily went swimming in the sea and enjoys the river at Smithies Bridge.

In his last home Scrumpy jumped unaffiliated and affiliated (BS Club and Schools BS number 432361) with a near perfect BS record at 60 and 70 (his happy zone) and has jumped all over the country including the David Broome Event Centre BS Winter Schools finals, the BS National Champs at Stoneleigh and even the Castle Arena at Bolesworth.

In a previous home Scrumpy was part of the pony club mounted games team although this is not something we have tried beyond playing games at home. Again he is steady away but learns quick and turns tight.

Scrumpy has also hunted with the Bloodhounds and was hoof perfect. We haven't done much dressage with him apart from the odd ode/local event - he can do a nice test it's just not our thing.

Scrumpy is great to handle in all ways even with tiny children. He comes to call in the field, is a delight to brush, tack up, load, travel (trailer or lorry) and for the dentist, vet and physio (up to date with everything). Great for farrier. Currently shod in front but has been barefoot previously with no issues. Never sick or sorry. Settles straight away at shows. He is extremely handsome and the perfect colour for those last minute running late dashes to Pony Club - he always looks smart and clean. He loves the clippers, he's preciously had stars and hearts. Lives in or out but does like time outside in the field with his friends.

No vices.

Is there a negative? He can be bossy in the field (he likes to be in charge of the herd) and he can, very occasionally, put in a tiny buck (more like a kick out) when he's feeling excited.

This is an extremely hard sale for us. He has enabled my daughter to progress much quicker than we ever expected and together with her ever growing legs means she needs to move onto a 14.2hh. Although we are not keen to part with him we think it is unfair not to allow another child the opportunity to love him.

He passed a five stage vetting with us in October 2022 and this, together with vet history, is available if wanted.

Scrumpy will only be sold to a perfect home - ideally with younger siblings who can take over the reins and provide him with a long term home. I will require references and videos of the children riding.

I can provide references to anyone about Scrumpy from any source required, previous owners, yard owner, pony club, trainers, judges etc. He is well known locally and at pony club.

I will also need to be able to keep in touch with him after the sale (as will previous owners - he has quite the fan club!).

My little super pony 13.3hh New Forest x Tb x Arab Bay roan Mare. 13 years old.

I am very sadly and very reluctantly putting my very special girl up for sale through no fault of her own.

Willow has spent her time doing pony club (in previous home for 4 yrs )/ riding club and British eventing for the last two seasons with me. She is happiest competing at 70/75cm although has jumped up to 90 with myself.

Willow enjoys hacking and is safe and sensible in every way, she is happy to hack alone or in company.

We have done fun rides, beach rides and everything in between you can take her anywhere.

I am looking for a home where she can enjoy her job, hacking, jumping/eventing/PC/RC activities, dressage and fun rides.

She is 100% for the farrier, to load/travel in a box or trailer, upto date with vaccinations, worming.
She is 100% on the ground I have never had any problems with her, she can be tricky to catch if she gets too friendly with her neighbour but she will come for food. She is happy to live out all year round with a shelter in the winter months.
She loves a cuddle and a scratch and she is used to my young children around her. She’s never kicked, reared, bolted or bucked.
Willow is not a novice pony, she will make a fantastic 2nd pony, she ideally needs a very competent pre/teen or lightweight adult.
She is every mother/daughters dream share. When she is in work and super fit she can be strong and very sharp - especially when you point her at a jump.
Willow is my pony of a lifetime and she is so dear to me I will take my time in finding her the right person. She must go to a loving 10* and very knowledgeable home.

Troy is a gorgeous 14.1h 12 year old registered Newforest dun gelding. He is for sale on behalf of his owner. He is such a sweet gentle soul who is very easy to have around. He is such a good looking pony with his golden coat and striking dapples, a real head turner. He has good conformation, clean legs, straight movement and is blemish free. He is also barefoot with good horn quality. Being a native Newforest he is a lovely size for small adults to enjoy as well as teenagers. He is a lovely alrounder type who loves his jumping and hacking but is green and has low milelage so is looking for a confident experienced rider.

Troy is green in the school and therefore not suitable for nervous or novice riders. He likes a quiet balanced rider who has a bit of feel. He has good basic schooling established but needs a bit more producing from an experienced rider to be able to reach his potential. He is a responsive forward going ride who only needs very light aids. He hasn’t had much arena work in the past due to his owners preferences but is now coming along very well and progressing each ride. We are just looking for the right rider to now continue his education and put some more miles on his clock. In time I think he will make a cracking child’s pony but he isn’t ready yet. He is such a genuine boy who wants to please and has a good work ethic, he isn’t spooky, he never bucks, rears or naps. If he is unsure of his rider he will just be hurried and shoot forward, so he needs someone confident that isn’t going to be worried about this and then he is actually very straight forward.

Troy loves his jumping, he is very honest and genuine into his fences. He makes a lovely shape and is very careful. He jumps from trot or canter. Again he hasn’t done loads of jumping but he has certainly taken to it like a duck in water. He has been to a few clear rounds as well as xc schooling. He was fabulous at xc, he went over everything asked of him in a very relaxed manner and he actually ended up being the lead horse. He jumped a wide range of fences including a ditch, steps, water, timbres, tyres ect. He had such an amazing attitude at xc, very bold over his fences, very confident in his own skin, wasn’t at all bothered where the other horse was, went first or last and was just perfect! He will definitely excel as a jumping/ xc pony and would make a fabulous pony club pony for a confident teen rider. He forms such a strong bond with his rider and is the type of pony that would do anything for you when he trusts you.

Troy is really good to hack alone and in company. Hacking is what he has done the most of. He is a nicely forward going ride to hack where you haven’t got to nag him with your leg. He is excellent in traffic including Lorries and motor bikes, he currently hacks straight out onto a busy through road. He is also very sensible in open spaces and will canter around stubble fields and tracks very sweetly. He will go in any order also but does like to walk out well so is usually towards the front. He is also good to canter alongside other horses and doesn’t get excitable. He would be perfect for someone wanting a best friend to enjoy hours of hacking with and fun rides ect.

Troy is a very sweet pony with a lovely quiet temperament. He can be a little shy of new people but nothing a treat doesn’t solve (he loves his food). He has very good manners and is good to catch, lead, groom ect. He is nervous of his back feet being touched and picked up, I think this can be easily over come when he has a one to one bond with his owner. So he does need some work and practice put into picking his back feet up, he currently has a tube of oral sedation to have his back feet trimmed whenever they need doing. He is just unsure and worried but isn’t at all nasty. He is very easy to have around, he doesn’t mind whether he lives in or out, alone or in company, he just goes with the flow. He is also a very calming influence on other more stressy horses so makes a very good companion.

Troy is for sale on behalf of his owner as he sadly wasn’t the right match, he was a little too green and forward going. So he is looking for an experienced home with a confident rider. He will make someone a pony of a lifetime as he is very rewarding to ride and really does love to please. Priced at £5,000 to reflect that he is green and that he needs work picking his back feet up. Oakley is a well mannered and fun pony he is truly a one off and we have had so much fun with him over the past three years. We have done Pony Club camp, show jumping, dressage, eventing and Work Hunter. There is nothing that he can't do and he always tried his best. Oakley is very mannerly always a pleasure to hack.

He would happily trot around a course of 30cm on a long rein if you lose a stirrup he will slow down and wait for you. He can also be competitively jumped around a course of 70/80cm. He has got the scope to go higher but this is the level my daughter has competed him to.

Oakley would make a great family share pony as can go up and down the levels without any fuss. He has great paces and has a good rhythm so scores well on a dressage test.

He is easy to do on daily basis and is currently turned out on a daily basis and stabled at night time. He is fit and ready to go and up to date with everything. Good to box, shoe and clip.

Oakley truly is a genuine pony and taught my daughter so much who came of a 12 hand pony. Only the best home will be sought as it is what he deserves. This is a very sad sale due to a change in family circumstances so please do not waste my time if you are not serious.

This pony needs no introduction and is very well known on the showing circuit.

He had a very successful novice year in 2022 to which he also qualified HOYs that year and stood 7th.

In 2023 he qualified for RIHS and HOYS first time out with respectable placings at both finals.

Already in 2024 he has already got his London Semi Final ticket for the Heritage Champs in October, qualified for RIHs and HOYs 2024.

Dancer in every way is so easy to do. Easy to catch, travel, shoe, vet, etc.

Unfortunately I do not have hacking facilities but he does go around my fields which is next to a motorway and he has hacked out at Hickstead.

I purchased "Ronnie" as a 2 year old colt and have carefully produced him from the day I purchased him.

He was gelded as a rising 2 year old and then lightly backed as a 3 year old. He had a very novice season as a flat pony contending a few flat classes in the novice and HOYS qualifiers gaining some top 5 places. Due to COVID and clients ponies he was kept back as a novice WHP and measuring out as a 133 (measures 134.5) I have carefully produced him in the 14hh section.

Last season he jumped a lovely clear in the 90cm qualifier at the final of the NPS arena eventing and qualified for RIHS 2024 unfortunately rolling 2 poles at the final but jumped a lovely bold round and didn't look at a single fence.

I really think 'ronnie' can go on to give so much more to an up and coming junior or anyone who wants to tackle the county/eventing/PC/RC shows amd events

"Ronnie" is an easy pony from start to finish, I can box him up myself and take him to shows, arena hires and the beach. He is just one of the easiest ponies ok the yard. He doesn't need hours of warm up. He attended his first hunt last year. We were only going for photos as he had been roughed off 2 months prior, he was clipped the night before and you would have thought he had been in work and done it all his life, he stood in the main street with the crowd and didn't move a muscle.

A real genuine reason for his Sale. I unfortunately need to cut down before the winter due to not being able to cut enough of the hay fields.
