One in a million pony in need of a new best friend

Lovely Connemara x KWPN with a wonderful temperament and personality

Ref #: 280038
  • Leo is an absolute dream pony in all aspects.
  • Connemara
  • Dun
  • Gelding
  • 18 years
  • 14.2 hands (LHC)
  • Leo is an absolute dream pony in all aspects.

He is wonderful to ride, hack out (alone or in company), and is uncomplicated in all manners of care.

A talented showjumper and eventer with beautiful flatwork, he has been with me for 6 years now and it is absolutely heart breaking to have to sell him! Having given me so much over the years, I have decided it is now time for him to lead a quiet life. Therefore he is only for someone looking for a well-behaved yet fun and energetic companion for a bit of light work and hacking and just overall fun. He has a delicate and sometimes sensitive character so not for a novice rider. However, he is so sweet and has never put a foot wrong with me. He really is one of a kind!

Home is very important and will only sell to someone who can guarantee a happy new life for Leo! Good to clip and load. More videos and photos available on request.

Heartbreaking decision to find our lovely Phoebe a new family to love and progress with.

Phoebe loves to jump, pops 1.20 with ease, she is the fun forward type.

She would most suit a confident young child teenager or small adult wanting to do low level showjumping or cross country

She isn’t for a nervous child as she is forward into her fences and will jog trot occasionally out hacking she would be the best pony for someone who wants to win locally do Pc or Rc activities - she absolutely loves her work

She is kind enough for a child to handle on the ground she’s good to catch and clip to load she sometimes take five mins but will always go up

She is up to date with teeth worming vaccinations and physio.

Phoebe must have company and ideally live out with a shelter she’s happier being her own boss as she will weave if stabled that said she isn’t the type you can’t bring away from others and tack up sensibly.

Phoebe is only for sale as sadly daughter gone on to horses her home is very important so please no timewasters, we love this pony and the confidence she has given my daughter.

Loads of videos available on request Sold with her tack and rugs.

Poppet is a beautiful Welsh Sec A , she has a super presence and a big impressive movement along with top class bloodlines.

Poppet is currently working in a riding school doing lessons for novice young riders on the lead rein she’s very accepting of novice riders but strong to lead.

She has done a few off lead lessons but has proved too quick for novices , but goes beautifully for a more experienced rider. She will happily pop a jump , go for a little walk round the tracks or work in the school, she’s ridden in a snaffle bridle with us at all times .

Poppet can be marish to girth up and pulls faces but never know to be nasty. Upto date with all essentials Farrier, Dentist , physio , vaccinations & worming .

Poppet arrived to our yard in a 3.5t lorry and travelled well. We only clip the necks off the ponies who are in light work during winter but she stood well for that.

I think poppet would be happier and excel in a home when she’s not constantly held back or asked to slow down .

She’s a fun , forward free moving pony that would suit a confident, experienced child that wants to kick on and go .

Equally I think she’d be one to watch showing in hand , a super candidate for the Veteran Classes.

Bluey is any Mothers dream and is a complete schoolmaster pony and is a perfect beginners lead rein, first ridden or first pony for any child.

Bluey has taken our child from lead rein and safely riding around showing, show jumping courses giving confidence to progress and is a very safe and steady snaffle ride and will only go at the pace you want him to in a nice steady rhythm.

He gives confidence to any child and you can trust him knowing he will take your child safely around the ring.

He is very good to catch, groom, with the blacksmith great and out of the stable and does not kick or bite bring kind for little children. He is safe in open spaces. Like most ponies he likes the company of a friend which is essential for him to keep him happy.

We have owned Bluey for five wonderful years and this is a sad sale as he is totally outgrown and we don’t have a rider. He is a one in a million so will only be sold to a 10* home, which will be vetted and who won’t be sold on and must be willing to remain in contact.

  • Lovely manners, will stand all day to be groomed and fussed. Fantastic with smallest of children.

Heartbreaking sale of our much loved first ridden Bob. Welsh gelding 18 year old. Very sadly outgrown, still has so much to give to a new family.

This type of pony is extremely hard to find and rarely for sale. Has lovely manners, will stand all day to be groomed and fussed, is fantastic with the smallest of children. Happy to be dressed up and ridden in fancy dress.

He’s been there and done it all, attended pony club regularly with us and for 5 years in his previous home. Done SJ, XC, dressage, rallies, attended camp. He loves hacking, will go in company or alone, he’s not phased by traffic and farm vehicles. He will also ride and lead.

He’s up to date with everything and is good for the farrier, dentist, vet, he’s great to clip and load. Has never kicked, he can nibble so we avoid giving too many treats.

We got him to take my daughter off the lead rein and she’s learnt to canter and jump on him. He will only go the speed the rider asks him too, so if it's a tiny rider you will need a little whip and some pony club kicks, with the slightly bigger rider he will ride off your leg.

He was recently diagnosed with cushings which is well managed with 1/4 pill a day, he does need restricted grass and regular work to manage his weight due to previous laminitis. A knowledgeable experienced home is a must.

Tack and full wardrobe included. Price reflects his need for careful management. He will only go to the best of homes.

Genuine enquiries only as this is an extremely difficult sale of a much-loved pony. Lots of videos and photos available.

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.
