Ref #: 382234
  • Super 1st Competition Pony

Tentatively thinking about letting our Monkey go to pastures new.

He has been an amazing pony for us for the past five years, and is very well known on the local circuit.

Isla and him had the most amazing bond and they won so many classes showjumping and WHP , he is so scopey for a small pony, and we have not found any filler in the country that he has even looked at , let alone spooked at.

He is brave, bold and an off the leg ride, whilst not being strong, he is however not called Monkey for no reason and will not tolerate wet wipes, bad riding or wimps, he loves a brave competitive jockey that will throw him round the jump off turns and dare him off any line, (and Isla did jump him off some very questionable lines!) he is also fab cross country and will jump anything.
Currently out hunting every week and loving it.

Monkey does have his quirks , which we love him for and he wouldn’t be monkey without them, but when you get in the ring , he will give you 110% and more every time, I have so many videos and pictures,

We wanted to keep him for my son who loves riding him, and has also competed him , but realistically he hasn’t got the time for him, the motocross just takes up too much of his time and Monkey has so much to give another jockey.

Part exchange welcome Transport available nationwide .

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

This pony needs no introduction Annandale New Approach (Roachy), Top Class 122 WHP/Nursery Stakes pony looking for a new home

Strawberry Roan. By Soudley Taliesin. Welsh Section B. 2008.

He is a pony of a lifetime, regularly appearing at Hoys, LIHS & RIHS. Roach has a wealth of experience in the WH ring. He is beautifully schooled and is a prolific winner in the First Ridden classes also.

He has competed at winter dressage, NSCA, arena eventing 85cm with many qualifications in all spheres.

Roach is an incredible competition pony who has jumped around all of the major show venues with an impressive list of wins, championships and qualifications in his CV, to include high placings at HOYS & RI (winner). He is also a strong contender in the plaited nursery stakes classes, having previously finished fifth at RIHS in this class.

He was the winner of two highest qualifying 122 whp classes in 2024.

Would also do BS.

Always home produced, loves hacking, no vices. Easy to box, catch, shoe, clip.

This is a very difficult decision. He is such a lovely pony. We purchased Roach six months ago for my 9 year old daughter.

My daughter has sadly had 2 broken arms aged four and aged seven. The two breaks knocked her confidence which she does struggle with, she prefers the flat.

Although Roach has done nothing wrong, he is an Open pony who loves his job and we have realised that Florence needs something that requires more leg to build her confidence.

We are looking for a 5* home for this lovely boy. The price reflects this incredible pony so please, no daydreamers.

Serious enquiries, please no time wasters.

Based in Kent, Rhyd Ifan Guinness (Guinness) is a 18 year old Irish sportspony.. we've had Guinness for nearly three years now and very sad to sell him as we no longer have enough time for him.

Guinness mainly enjoys jumping and will very confidently jump around a 80cm course with scope to go higher, he also enjoys cross country and will happily hack alone or in company.

Despite being 18, Guinness is in very good shape and definitely has a good few years of competing left in him.

Guinness is good with the farrier, good to clip, good for vet, etc.

Guinness is happy to be turned out alone or in company (both mares and geldings), and Guinness needs turnout all year round.

Guinness is up for anything and is a plug and play horse when competing; you put him in the arena and he knows exactly what his job is. And he truly is a once in a lifetime pony, and we are gutted to sell him.

Guinness is not a novice ride and needs a confident teenager. Don’t be fooled by his age! He’s a gem!

Happy to share videos etc etc

MOELTRYFAN CHEEKY BOY

Steady, confidence giving, safe, fun, all rounder - the most loving pony and family member!

TOTALLY SAFE AND GENUINE TRUE ALL ROUNDER

Heartbreaking sale of my son’s best friend-A real life perfect unicorn.

Please read carefully and only contact me if you can fit the criteria as we are wanting the perfect match!
We are looking for a home that can offer him only but the best!

• Schoolmaster
• Stunning looks and a beautiful, easy rocking horse canter. He’s steady yet responsive.

Boo enjoyed the show ring before turning his hoof to hunting, pony club and a more all-round life.

We bought Boo to give my son confidence after loosing his nerve with a pony that bucked and reared all the time, he didn’t want to ride anymore and this pony restored his confidence. So much so that he’s now moved onto his next pony which is 14hh.

We don’t want to part with Boo but he’s too lovely and talented to be ridden occasionally and a family pet.

He deserves the best home now and to give a child the joy he’s given us.
Boo has many rosettes , winning many times and trophies . He’s admired wherever we go.

He’s attended PC Camps , numerous rallies and he has competed successfully at lots of local shows and mini ODEs.He has been to many busy hunt meets and hunted with us and his previous home. We've done pc camps, rallies, pc show jumping, cross country, showing, mini one day events, hunting, fun rides, local shows, gymkhanas, village fete pony rides the list is endless!

Boo is a pony club superstar - nothing he has not done. Boo loves jumping and he jumped up to 70cm and 80cm with my son at competitions , alongside winning the Chase Me Charlie at camp jumping 1M.

His only vice is rarely ( once or twice in a year) he’s bucked in an open space
( cantering in field) through excitement. This hasn’t bothered or worried my son at all. He would never do this on the lead rein or in the arena - it’s only when the children have moved up to the 2nd type pony.

Hacks alone or in company. Nannies other horses and ponies out hacking. Used to calm and give confidence to others out and about. Totally safe with busy traffic or outside pubs with lots going on.

Boo is kind and gentle on the ground and always handled by children, will stand for hours to be pampered, loves to be groomed and washed. He has the patience of a saint. Amazing manners. He's happy to be groomed, fussed and pampered all day long. I know, I can let my children safely handle him to groom, bath, tack up, rug up, muck out and load.

Boo can be left for weeks without been ridden. He is in at night over the winter and out by day over the spring/summer on restricted grazing. He’s had laminitis once with his previous owners and we have been very strict about his regime and diet. He’s never shown any signs with us.

He's been fully shod due to the terrain where we live and work load and currently just fronts, but can go bare foot depending on work load and terrain. We live on a busy working farm so he's used to big machinery cattle, sheep and noise.

Up to date with all vaccinations. No health issues. Perfect for the vet, farrier, dentist and to clip.

From the stable to out and about, Boo is a joy. His temperament is second to none - loving, gentle, and cheekily charming.
This pony means the world to my son and to us as a family.
This is a very sad and difficult sale, and we are looking for the right home because he's only had 2 homes before us. The previous owners would like updates and to stay in touch. His last owners had Boo for 10 years from lead-rein to 2nd pony, he kept the three girls safe throughout their riding journey so he’s incredibly important to them as well as his first owner and myself.
The ideal home would be an experienced pony club family home with younger siblings looking to ride Boo once he’s outgrown.

Price includes tack and rugs . Strictly no time wasters . Homes will be vetted and please only enquire if you think you might be the next suitable home. Many Thanks.

This is an advert we have been putting off for so long, but he is now hopelessly outgrown and needs to go and make another little persons dreams come true.

He was bought 9 years ago for my then 4-year-old for M&M LR showing and he has literally been her best friend ever since.

He has had an amazing and successful show career to date; Inhand, Ridden, Championships, Supremes and has literally covered my daughters bedroom walls with rosettes, trophies and sashes from Lead Rein, First Ridden to Show Hunter Pony. He can equally be produced and home produced.

My daughter has literally learned everything on him from her up/downs, to coming off lead, to cantering, learning to jump, cross country, dressage, pony club and mounted games.

He hasn’t been showing for a few years, but I am sure he would love to go back to it, strutting his stuff in the ring like the showman he is, or equally be a little person’s best friend showing them the ropes like he has done for my daughter.

He is by Nantdywyll Telor out of Colne Tatiana and his full siblings include Colne Tulip, Colne Turbo, Colne Taboo.

Please only message if you are genuinely interested as this is an extremely hard sale for us as a family. No price kickers or video collectors.

Wonderful schoolmaster! Eddie has been there and done that. He has done everything from being a lead rein pony to a pony club pony.

Eddie has been schooled well on the flat. He would do a lovely dressage test or be perfect for showing. He has lovely paces and works easily in a soft frame. Previously he was shown at royal Windsor when he was younger. He also did a lot of dressage in a previous home.

Eddie has done many pony club camps over the years, including with his current owner. He is always well behaved! He has also done all pc activities and even did some pony racing in a previous home.

Eddie is great to hack and hacks both alone and in company. He has hacked all around Windsor great park with his current owners. He has seen farm machinery and cattle too. As his owner has direct access in to Windsor great park they have not needed to do road work. I’ve taken him down the main road where he was very well behaved and good in traffic.

Eddie has jumped both SJ and XC to 60cm with previous owners, with his current family he has done less jumping and more hacking and flatwork.

Eddie is wonderful to do on the ground. His child can do everything with him. He’s very polite to handle. Good for farrier, clipping and loading.
