Chio is a genuine, exciting competition horse who would suit a confident amateur or competitive rider looking to go out and have fun — and be in the placings. He has jumped competitively up to 1.30m, is quick across the ground, clever and careful at a fence, and always locks on to the next question. Naturally competitive, Chio loves his job and knows how to win.
Current form:
Chio has won his last two outings at 1.10m and is now ready to step back up to 1.20m+. He has been jumping smaller tracks recently, purely due to his current rider being a novice with a preference to compete around 90cm, making this a rare opportunity to acquire a proven horse who has not been over-faced and has plenty more to give.
Chio has also won all 6 outings at BD Quest Dressage this year with his current owner, scoring 71%.
Despite being a true competition horse who thrives in a knowledgeable home, Chio is a pleasure to ride. He is always ridden in a snaffle, is responsive without being strong, and genuinely wants to please. He has three quality, balanced paces, making him equally capable in the dressage arena as well as over fences.
Chio is a joy to have around — easy to shoe, clip and box, and wonderfully affectionate. He will follow you around like a Labrador and absolutely loves people. He hacks well and is sensible in traffic.
This is a genuine and very difficult sale. Chio is adored by his family, but due to increasing work and young family commitments, his talent is no longer being fully utilised. He is fit, sound and ready to go, and now deserves a home where he can continue to progress and fulfil his potential.
