SPS Magnetica — “Margo”
4-year-old mare | Magnetiet x Fleetwater Opposition | AES Main Stud Book | Quality young event horse prospect
SPS Magnetica, affectionately known as Margo, is a very exciting 4-year-old mare by Magnetiet, out of a mare by the legendary eventing stallion Fleetwater Opposition.
She is a genuine, kind, quick-learning mare with three smart paces and a fantastic attitude, and is exactly the sort of young horse that is exciting to produce for the future.
Margo’s sire, Magnetiet, is by Daily Diamond, a highly regarded performance stallion who achieved an impressive 87.5 points at his KWPN performance test, including 9s for his canter, suppleness, posture and balance, rideability and attitude.
Daily Diamond is by Daily Deal, by the famous Diamond Hit, with valuable Thoroughbred blood through Lauries Crusador xx in the sire line. His dam is by Fürst Heinrich, bringing further proven performance blood to the pedigree.
Daily Diamond is renowned for his uphill, powerful canter, balance, self-carriage, suppleness and rideability — qualities that are extremely desirable in an event horse and complement Margo’s eventing-bred dam line beautifully.
On Margo’s dam’s side is the hugely influential Fleetwater Opposition.
Fleetwater Opposition was an outstanding Elite Trakehner stallion and proven competition horse, winning individual and team gold at the Junior European Three-Day Event Championships. He subsequently became one of the most influential eventing sires in Britain, producing numerous successful Advanced and international event horses.
His offspring include Yarlands Summersong, an Olympic, World and European medallist, and Opposition Buzz, who successfully competed at Badminton and Burghley and was a European Team Gold Medallist.
The Opposition blood is renowned for producing horses with bravery, athleticism, stamina, jumping ability and a genuine willingness to take on a job — making this an exceptionally exciting pedigree for an event horse.
Margo has a lovely genuine nature and is a very easy horse to like. She is good in all ways and has been a pleasure to produce. She is straightforward, kind and sensible, with a lovely attitude towards people and her work.
She is quick to learn and keen to please, and once she understands what is being asked of her, she is very willing to repeat it. Not much fazes her, and she takes new experiences in her stride.
She is good to shoe, clip, bath, plait, tack up and mount, and is straightforward with the everyday handling and routines that are so important in a young horse. She is also fully up to date with everything.
Under saddle she has three smart paces, with natural balance, quality and presence. She is always improving and has the attitude to keep learning. She genuinely enjoys her work and gives you the feeling that she wants to get things right.
Margo has been produced with her future firmly in mind and has never been rushed. She was deliberately only backed as a mid-4-year-old, with the aim of giving her the best possible chance of a long and successful career. Her physical and mental development has been prioritised over getting her out early and producing results quickly.
Margo is still with her breeder, who has been closely involved in her upbringing and education from the beginning. She has been carefully produced with the intention of finding the right home where she can continue to develop and enjoy a successful career.
With her quality paces, athleticism, brave pedigree and exceptional attitude, she could be a very exciting candidate to aim towards the 5-year-old Burghley Young Event Horse championships.
Margo is a stocky, quality sort, with plenty of substance whilst retaining her athleticism and quality. She would suit a professional eventing yard looking for a quality young prospect, but equally, her genuine and kind nature makes her an exciting prospect for an ambitious teenager with the right support and guidance.
She has enough quality and ability to progress, while her sensible, willing attitude should give her rider confidence as she develops.
Margo is AES passported with pink papers and is in the Main Stud Book. She is fully up to date with everything and is open to viewings and vettings.
Will sell unseen to the right home. International transport can be arranged.
The combination of Magnetiet/Daily Diamond dressage quality and Fleetwater Opposition eventing blood gives Margo an exceptional pedigree for the sport. Add in her three smart paces, quick brain, genuine nature, stocky athletic build and unflappable attitude, and she is a young mare with a very exciting future ahead of her.
She has been given the time to develop properly rather than being rushed and is now ready for someone to continue her education and put their own stamp on her.
Good in all ways, easy to like and genuinely exciting for the future — Margo is one to watch.
