Barney is a lovely chap. We backed him in December and he has continued to progress since then. He can be a little bit cheeky in the arena at times, but once you get him going and encourage him forward, he settles and works nicely. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the time to put the work into him that he needs at the moment.

He has had his back and teeth checked, and the chiropractor was very complimentary, describing him as a lovely, young, athletic horse who simply needs time and consistency.

He is super friendly on the ground, has lovely manners, is good with his feet and easy to catch. He is currently barefoot and has lovely, good feet. He is also super out hacking, including on his own and in traffic.

He absolutely loves jumping and has been over cross-country fences, show jumps and fillers, taking everything in his stride. He has also been shown previously.

He is a lovely medium speed to ride where you can nicely get your leg on him but you haven’t got to keep nagging. He is not at all sharp or hot, he is very level headed and sensible. He makes you feel confident and safe. He is a very good boy to ride with no ridden vices; people can’t believe he is 4 as he is better behaved than most 8 year olds. He would suit lots of riders a she is straightforward but I wouldn’t like him to go to a novice as he is still young and isn’t the finished product just yet. I just think he deserves a rider who knows what they are doing. He is a very easy youngster who has had the correct start and would be easy enough for a competent teen coming off ponies or amateur to produce further. He has such a lovely attitude to his work and is a quick learner who always has a smile on his face. He has been out to a few unaffiliated dressage competitions in Ireland where he was well placed. He has the potential to excel in dressage at riding club and affiliated level.

Dream loves his jumping and makes a lovely shape over a fence. He is very honest and genuine to jump. He doesn’t get at all strong or fizzy, juts super easy and straight forward. He is nice and brave and jumps all fillers and water trays first attempt confidently. He is lovely and rideable around a course of jumps, maintaining his rhythm. He has been out to compete in sj and arena eventing in Ireland, where he won a Horse Sport Ireland arena eventing competition at 80cm. He has been jumping around 90cm at arena hires with plenty of scope to step up to 1m. He is very good to ride at new places and has a very good attitude to his jumping with a lovely adjustable canter.

He is equally as bold over xc jumps. He proved very straight forward and easy to ride jumping everything asked of him including going through the water. He nicely takes you into the jumps but isn’t at all strong, always in a snaffle, very polite. I can see him really excelling as an eventer or top end riding club horse as he is brilliant at all 3 disciplines. He would make a super Badminton grass roots prospect.

Dream is super to hack alone and in company. He is good in traffic and confident in his own skin. If a large lorry or tractor comes past we just stand in a driveway and let him look at it but he’s a very good boy. He is brilliant in open spaces, very sane and sensible. He is very mannerly and will canter happily in any order on an easy rein. He has been on pleasure rides which he loves and is so much fun. He has also hunted on several occasions last season in Ireland where he took it all in his stride. He would be very well suited to someone wanting to combine pleasure rides with competing, or equally just one or the other. Equally he would be lovely for mum to hack whilst daughter competes.

Dream has a superb kind friendly temperament. He’s like an over grown Labrador. He loves people and will make someone an amazing best friend as he is so interactive and forms a really strong bond. He loves all the attention of being groomed and pampered. He is a good to handle in all ways. He lives in and out and is happy turned out next to or in with other horses, he is very quiet in the field and gets on well with all horses and ponies. Candy has been with us a year now. We got her when she was just broken as a 5yr old. And even though she wasn’t looking her best at the time she still caught the eye.

Our original plan was to have a horse so I could go riding with my 12yr old daughter, but the more we got to know Candy the more she showed us that she was more classy than that.

She really turned inside out when we started doing work on her and I was soon jocked off by my daughter and herself and her friends took over the ride…

Since mid May she has been in steady work really focusing on flat work as she was weak enough even though she was a 6yr old…

Scope was never a doubt but as she strengthened up she got even better and her technique really sharpened up.

X country was not a problem either as I had been out around the land schooling over banks, ditches, gates the usual things you’d come across out hunting…

My daughter is in pony’s for another 4 years so we don’t need Candy now, but when ever the time comes that she does want a nice 5 or 6 yr old then Candy would be what I’d hope to find and then do the 6&7yr old classes.

She is a pet around the stable, easy to do everything with, shoe, box, clip and ride. Hacks out alone or in company. Good in traffic.

Shelby is a genuine, kind-hearted Thoroughbred gelding with a sweet nature, willing attitude and trainable mindset. ROR eligible. We have owned Shelby for the last five years. My partner originally bought him to play polocrosse after he came out of racing, and he competed successfully in polocrosse, however it became clear that this wasn't the sport for him. I then spent six months reschooling him in dressage, before Shelby was loaned to a teenage boy for a year. During his loan he was regularly schooled, hacked and competed in online dressage. 

Unfortunately, due to a lack of transport, he has not had the opportunity to compete in person in dressage or other disciplines. Due to a change in circumstances, the loan has now ended and Shelby has spent the last nine weeks being professionally schooled. I no longer have the time required to keep him in consistent work, so this is a very difficult sale. 

Shelby can occasionally be seen to windsuck around feed times. This is mild and is reflected in his price. He is good to shoe, catch, groom and tack up. He is currently fit and in work and ready to continue his education with his new rider.
