The ultimate confidence-giver and family favourite – Jigsaw is a much-loved 15.2hh, 9-year-old Irish Sport Horse x Cob gelding looking for his next person.
He has been with us for 4 years and is a true yard gem – a kind, calm, and laid-back gentleman who has looked after everyone from our visiting pre-teens to our 80-something grandfather on his very first ride!
At a Glance:
• 15.3hh, 9yo skewbald gelding
• ISH x Cob with striking looks and flashy movement
• Calm, sensible, and sweet natured
• Barefoot with excellent feet
• Lives out 24/7 but also happy stabled
• No vices, sound and healthy
• Based in Dorchester
• £8,500 (tack/rugs negotiable)
What He’s Done:
• A lovely all-rounder who thrives on variety
• Schooling nicely on the flat – a smart mover with real potential for grassroots dressage
• Hacks alone or in company – front or behind – and loves a safe steady canter
• Weekly low-level show jumping at home to keep things fun and varied
• Has been XC schooling – happy over small fences, not naturally confident over bigger questions
• Trail hunted 4–5 times – loves being in the field, just not the hedge hopping!
• Great for a fuss – loves to be groomed, comes to call, and happy in/out of herd
Ideal Home:
Jigsaw would be perfect as a mother-daughter share, for a novice or nervous rider, or as a family all-rounder. He genuinely wants to please and gives back what you put in.
He's happiest with someone who will enjoy hacking, maybe do a bit of flatwork or low-level fun, and give him all the attention he thrives on.
He Is:
• Good to catch, load, travel (trailer or lorry), shoe, and clip (will stand in a head collar for all clipping, BUT he has always been nervous clipping around lower legs, so we trim with scissors or sedate just for legs)
• Up to date with teeth, vaccinations, worming
• Open to any vetting
• Sound and healthy – has never had an issue in the time we’ve had him
Why He’s For Sale:
Sadly, with competition horses and young horses to produce, we simply can’t give Jigsaw the full-time job or attention he deserves. He is too special to just fit around the others – he needs and deserves his own person.
He’s been a huge part of the family and we’ll be very sad to see him go
