Cobs like him simply don’t exist and certainly don’t come to market.

16hh 10 year old Maxi cob, a competitive yet safe schoolmaster under saddle and on the ground.

Showing:
True to type show cob, excellent conformation and he is a real showman.
Would be an excellent type for HOYS, SFAS, LIHS.
Trained in side saddle with some real untapped potential in this sphere.

Dressage:
Competes at unaffiliated elementary and ready to go BD, beginning to train medium movements at home

Hunting:
Thor lives for hunting, always the safest horse on the hunt field, hops any hedge/ ditch and the trappier the line the better he gets.

He absolutely loves going out with the hounds. Happy to wait around, go infront/ behind/ jumps anything without question. Would look after any rider on the hunt field.

Eventing:
Be80 schoolmaster, has competed and trained over be90 fences.
Was on the original cobs can event tv series

Showjumping
Again a complete schoolmaster at 80, clean and careful in front and will take a miss from The rider.

Thor is a complete joy to own and train, he’s smart and loves working as a partnership with his rider. Lovely uphill paces, and a comfortable ride. The sky really is the limit with him, if you believe it he will help you achieve it.

Easy on the ground, hacks alone and In company can be ridden by children. Has been a schoolmaster for BHS training modules, and often acts as a nanny for younger horses. Loads and travels a dream. Is always competed and travelled by a single owner across the uk without issue.

Barefoot, lives out in a herd 24/7, no known vices. All history known and been in the same home since backing.

Only available to the absolute right home that will keep in touch. Currently fit and ready to hit the ground running.

Five figure budget required for a horse of his calibre, would suit many people looking for a safe, top level allrounder or a professional looking for a show cob to add to their string.

Open to any vetting, based in Aberdeenshire with excellent facilities. No loans/ lease/ trials/ time wasters please. Not sold with tack, jump saddle available at separate negotiation

  • Lovely private home with unlimited forestry hacking

Wanted new best friend for older lady rider who enjoys hacking out in forestry , fun rides (often accompanying small children with pony club)

Bombproof unflappable type that enjoys hacking alone and in company.

15.2/3 ish not too slight needs to take up the leg and not mind a slightly cautious rider, someone not madly forward going .

My last horse has recently retired at age 30 and all my horses want for nothing. Must enjoy a fuss and load onto a Renault side loading van.

Must be good in rural traffic, narrow lanes with mainly tractors

Stabled at home with lots of company

I don’t do much road work.

Ryder is a 6-year-old Clydesdale cross gelding with a heart as big as his personality. Currently standing between 15.3hh and 16hh (to be confirmed), he is an eye-catching, solid stamp of a horse who turns heads wherever he goes.
Originally bought for a client, sadly due to unexpected health issues (a third hip operation), she will no longer be able to ride — which is a real shame, as Ryder would have been ideal. Since then, I've continued his education and the more I do with him, the more I believe he’s capable of turning his hoof to anything — he’d even look a picture in the show ring.

Training & Temperament

Ryder was backed at 4 years old but then turned away for 18 months. I’ve given him a full restart and he’s now 12 weeks back under saddle, taking everything in his stride.
Hacking alone or in company — happy in front or behind
Has been ridden and led from
Sensible, curious and forward-thinking
Will occasionally look at things, but nothing spooky — a little encouragement and he cracks on
Beginning his schooling journey now, and showing promise
He’s a genuine people-pleaser — first to the gate, trots over to say hello, and follows you around the field like a dog. He loves attention, cuddles, scratches and, of course, treats.

 On the Ground

Excellent for the farrier — recently had his first set of shoes
Vaccinations and teeth now fully up to date
Clipped for the first time here — behaved like a seasoned pro
Generally polite, though he can be pushy around food (easily managed — a quick finger click and he steps back like a gent)

Home Requirements

Ryder is looking for a knowledgeable, loving home where he’ll continue to be slowly and sympathetically produced. He’s a big softie who thrives on human interaction and would suit someone wanting a quality allrounder with a solid foundation to build upon.
He’s great around dogs, cats, and children — has even had kids sit on him bareback with no issues. Could easily see him being someone’s best mate, family horse, or future show partner.
Homes will be vetted — finding the right match is my top priority, and I don’t want him being passed from pillar to post.
Currently priced at £8,750

Please note this will increase as his training continues.

Dotty (Dothan Natasha) is a beautiful shire mare who has a gorgeous personality to match! Loves people and attention and enjoys a good groom!

We’ve allowed her to mature slowly and has had lots of groundwork and desensitisation in readiness for the big world. She’s had a bridle and saddle on and has been walked out on roads - nothing has phased her at all! She followed and lead with no issues. She has been sat on and walked around so she’s ready to step it up now!

She’s only for sale as she’s just not getting enough attention as one of four horses. She’d love to have her person to dote on her every wish. She is very gentle and keen to please.

She currently lives out and comes in daily for a feed, fuss and a bit of work. She comes to call and brings herself in. She’s currently barefoot with good feet. Up to date with farrier, dentist and physio.

Could make wonderful brood mare. Open to any inspection.

Shandy, 14.2 very heavy cob gelding, 4 yrs old. We really cannot speak highly enough of this cob.

He is a fabulous happy hack, he hacks alone or in company first or last. Passes all traffic and is greatbin open fields, snaffle mouth at all times.

He does the basics in the school and has 3 good paces, he has started popping jumps and has a great natural jump. He always trys his best.

He has the best temperament, wants to be your best friend, great manners and loves attention, very easy to have on the yard.

Would be a fab family cob, happy hacker or riding school/RDA.

Aggy is a lovely horse to have on the yard and the definition of a gentle giant.

We’ve had her from a 2yo , lightly backed her at 3 and now ridden her away as a 4yo. She has been super easy to do and took it all in her stride.

We’ve mainly been hacking her which she is super at. She’ll go on the buckle end at the back of a ride or wake up and take the lead. She’s also good to hack alone.

We have took her out in the lorry to a farm ride and she was foot perfect ! Even going over a few logs and cantering over stubble.
She been put on a hound exercise and was amazing ! This is something we will be doing more of with her

She’s off the leg and light mouthed , only being ridden in a snaffle

She will walk trot canter in the arena but due to her age we’ve not done too much.

She’s good to do in all ways. She is happy to live out or in and been used to a mixed herd.

She’s a quality stamp of a horse and a type that’s hard to find!

No novices due to her age

FOR SALE - Bonnie is a beautifully mannered 15hh, 17-year-old bay Welsh Cob mare by Trixies Black Prince (53631) out of Nebo Bronwen (125673).

She’s with me on sales livery as her owner is taking a gap year to travel and no longer has the time for her .Previously used as a versatile allrounder, Bonnie has spent the past two years enjoying a quieter life of hacking and occasional schooling. She’s now back in work and quickly getting back to her best.

Temperament & Handling:

Exceptional ground manners – clipping, bathing, grooming and handling are all effortless.

Loads and travels well, alone or in company.

Kind and tolerant around all animals (unfazed by dogs, goats and general yard chaos!).

Hacking & Schooling:

Hacks alone or in company, confidently crosses open fields and handles traffic well.

Currently learning to stand patiently for passing cars – already improving within a week.

Schooling is excellent – she’s forward-going but safe and doesn’t put a foot wrong.

Bold and scopey to a fence, jumps courses with fillers happily.

Recently went cross-country and was brilliant; more outings planned (shows, beach, arena hire).

She is not yet fully fit but improving quickly.

Safe and sensible, but more suited to a competent rider as she is a buzzy, forward type.

Could make a fantastic mother-daughter share depending on riding ability.

No known health issues or past injuries – she’s sound, healthy, and has plenty of life left.Bonnie is a true yard favourite who will suit someone looking for a fun, versatile horse to enjoy in any discipline.

Location: South East Kent, between Dover and Canterbury.

Good points

Beautiful mare very friendly easy to do on the ground not bargy or strong

Will live alone or in mixed herd.

Walked out in traffic not fased by anythig to date.

Easy to tack up rug unrug

Good in stable

Not been clipped to date dont see any issues

Nervous of farrier but i have her trimmed every 6 weeks she just needs patience bare foot with really good hooves.

Had the dentist last month she was very well behaved no sedation required no further treatment required just light rasp.

Travelled twice by same haulier for me 1 short haul 1 long haul behaved well on her own both times needed a lead to load but walked on fine.

Bad points.

Nappy wont go forwards on a hack goes backwards turns for home..

I was sold this mare as suitable as a family ride for any member of the family from a very reputeable seller .

When i tried her she was calm and willing though quite green. Sadly i only rode her in the school big Mistake i realise now. Hindsight is marvelous.

Initially i boarded her at a riding school and she was good in the school again green but willing left field mates to ride alone in the school no issues we hadnt hacked out at that point it was winter weather was harsh and the school seemed perfect. I had no worries.

Then I moved and we are living very rural on my own land which should have been perfect.

Only i found she wont hack out alone or in company some days shes better than others but we never get far out the drive. I can ride her on the drive up down back and forth but she wont leave home i never get far before the napping starts and we end up just going back and forth on the same stretch of road and ive now no school to keep her working.

Give her time i was advised so i have a year of it ..walking out in hand and long reining shes perfectly happy follows or leads just fine put a saddle on and nope not going away. Saddle fits had all tack checked had her back checked no issues found

The more i try and fail the more she thinks she can get away with this.

Im 70 disabled and over horsed i need to find her an experiened home where she will be ridden on theres no malice in her just sheer stubborness.

I paid 6k for her last sept. Im not going to realise that now and im preared to drop to 4.5k to find her a good home shes too young and inexperienced for me and my granddaughter shes a lovely big cob who deserves a job.

Has a small possible sarcoid behind girth doesnt interfere with girth or boot vet unconcerned about it and it hasnt changed in the year ive had her hes reluctant to interfere with it.

We are located in Benbecula Western Isles so its a ferry journey from Skye. Mallaig or Oban I know this sounds off putting but honestly its a fabulous trip and shes worth seeing these big cobs go for way more than im asking for i just need a nice home for her. Im being as open and honest as i can as i dont want anyone else to be miss sold and the mare get passed on again and again. Any quedtions please do contact me.

*Milo* - 15hh, 9-year-old gelding – genuine and talented

This is a very sad sale and not a decision I’ve made lightly. My lovely boy is now looking for his new home.

Since I’ve had him, he has come on leaps and bounds. Three beautiful paces - He’s so clever, willing, and always gives his all. He’s already experienced camps, fun rides, shows, you name it!

Not a novice ride. He needs a confident, quiet rider who can channel his enthusiasm. He absolutely loves to jump and my goodness he knows his job (sometimes a little too much), and would suit a home where he can continue to enjoy hunting, XC, SJ, or definitely pony club!

Hacks brilliantly, alone or in company (though he prefers to be in front).

- No medical history.
- he is hogged but he doesn’t have sweet itch - his mane is so thick and wild! And I’ve gone down the show cob/hunter route so it’s just been easier to manage.
- 100% honest, never nasty, despite his best resting grumpy face impression in the stable! (Think he’s going through early teenage hormones)

This is a very genuine horse who deserves the right home. The ideal person will enjoy his talent and his character as much as I have. I just do not have the confidence or time to fulfill his needs. But please appreciate I will only let him go to someone who I think is 100% suited.

Jerry | 15hh Black Gelding | Smashing Cob with Style and Substance

Meet Jerry, a striking 15hh black cob gelding with serious presence and a brave, forward-going attitude paired with rideability. Jerry already shows the quality, confidence, and character of a much older horse, making him an exciting and versatile prospect for the future.

Jerry is a real head-turner with a strong, compact build, excellent conformation, and that classic cob charm. He is forward-going in the best way—keen, responsive, and full of energy—yet he remains sensible, safe, and good to ride, making him both enjoyable and reliable under saddle. He thrives on work and loves to be ridden, giving his best each time and always eager to please.

He is easy to catch, box, shoe, and he takes new experiences in stride. Out hacking, Jerry is confident and happy both alone and in company. He is good in traffic and unbothered by noise or movement, making him a dependable ride whether on the roads or exploring open countryside.

Jerry has a lovely step and natural movement that, combined with his brave attitude and eye-catching presence, give him real potential for the show ring. He would also be well-suited to riding club activities or simply as a fun and capable all-rounder for someone who enjoys an active, forward-going ride. While he has plenty of presence and energy, he is still genuine, kind, and easy enough for a competent amateur or confident novice to enjoy.

This smashing cob is full of promise and ready to continue his education with someone who will appreciate his enthusiasm and ability. He has no stable vices, is open to any vetting, and comes with the added peace of mind that delivery to your yard in the UK is included in the price.

If you’re looking for a smart, stylish cob with the movement, mindset, and manners to go far, Jerry is one not to miss.

Caught and Handled regularly by a teen and very gentle and well mannered off the ground. She’s good, to catch, load, with the farrier etc.

We haven’t over pushed her because of her age and she has some growing to do however, she’s riding out sensibly on her own and in small groups with the riding centre and done absolutely everything and more we’ve asked of her.

She absolutely loves her human and is very loving and affectionate She will be someone’s super special girl of a lifetime.

Meet Vinnie, a 4-year-old 16.2hh Irish Draught cross gelding with all the quality, temperament, and bone you’d expect from a traditional Irish type. Vinnie is a beautifully put-together bay gelding with a kind, gentle nature and a willing attitude that makes him a joy to handle and ride. He’s the sort of horse that wants to do the right thing and always gives his rider 100%.

Vinnie is well-schooled on the flat, riding in a soft, consistent contact with a light snaffle mouth. He works nicely in all three paces and has a naturally balanced way of going. He’s easy and uncomplicated to ride, with a calm, forgiving temperament that would suit a range of riders—including novices, mother-daughter shares, riding schools, or even trekking centres looking for a safe, steady horse to add to their string.

Vinnie is a true allrounder, he would make a lovely riding club horse. He’s also an extremely honest and genuine jumper. Vinnie has schooled confidently up to 90cm over both coloured poles and cross-country fences. Out on the course, he takes everything in stride—ditches, drains, banks, coffins, water—he jumps it all with a brave and willing heart. He’s the kind of horse that keeps trying, even if the question gets tough, and he never says no. His attitude makes him an ideal candidate for someone looking to hunt this coming season—he’s already hunted twice earlier this year and proved himself to be mannerly, straightforward, and happy to get on with the job. Ideal hunting horse / allrounder.

Vinnie is easy to do in all ways. He’s good to catch, box, shoe, and is safe in traffic. He hacks out happily alone or in company and enjoys being out and about. He has no stable vices, is open to any vetting, and is the kind of horse that’s hard to find—kind, safe, genuine, and with his whole future ahead of him.

Whether you’re looking for a safe partner to enjoy in the school, on the hunting field, or out hacking, Vinnie is ready to go and will settle into any routine with ease. The price includes delivery to your yard in the UK, and we offer an exchange option if you’re not happy.

Dory is a 14.3/15hh 7yo cob mare. She moves nicely and is anaffle mouthed at all times. She is forward going and responsive, not your typical ploddy cob.

She schools sweetly and has a natural relaxed outline. She moves beautifully and always keen to please.

She is low mileage for her age but she has been XC schooling proving very brave and bold and jumped everything asked of her with no hesitation. Jumped in to water, up and down steps, owl hole etc. You name it she did it!

She has also been to the beach behaving impeccably. Happy to leave her friend and be left. Went in front and behind, didn’t bother about dogs running round her. She even went in swimming and loved it.

She loves hacking and will go first or last, alone or in company. Super in traffic and isn’t fazed by any big farm machinery. She’s also used to farm animals and loves to say hello. She also does gates and will even push it open for you!

She’s very polite to handle. She also enjoys a pub hack and will just stand patiently.

She is green in places due to low mileage so wouldn’t suit a complete novice but has been ridden by novices and looked after them. I would like her to go to someone who can continue her education and go and have some fun!

She loves people and you can’t help but smile when you’re riding her or just with her in general.

Up to date with teeth, vaccinations, had her back done etc. She does not come with tack however this could be negotiated separately.

Sadly a quick sale is needed due to personal circumstances so please no timewasters, loans, etc.

FOR SALE on behalf of a friend – JIM

Jim is a 4-year-old gelding, imported from Ireland in April. Owners sent him away to be professionally broken slowly over the summer and is now quietly hacking out.l ect.

Since bringing him home, his owner has realised they would be better suited to something more experienced, rather than a young, green 4yo and that they have probably way over horses themselves.
Now, we’ve all been there and done that haven't we.

So he has come to us to look for his new home. Although he is hacking out quietly, to save everyone’s time I would describe Jim as currently not a novice ride due to the short time he has been under saddle. He will make a super, big, weight-carrying hunter for the future.

Stands all day to be bathed and groomed. No stables vices. Clean limbed. Is currently looking like a BIG lean wooly 4yo, he has a huge frame to fill out in to. Not many of these types about anymore especially with a bit of size.

Talented super smart gelding with potential for medium dressage.

  • Bramley has hunted, evented and show jumped to 1m and has a big scopey jump

Schools beautifully on the flat, does a lovely dressage test (judges love him) and has potential to go to medium level.

Bramley would suit someone wanting to do dressage, hacking, showing and a bit of jumping on a surface / hunting on the right ground, as unfortunately he chipped a bit of navicular bone last October and the MRI showed changes in his fore navicular bones. He is in full work and sound but requires ongoing maintenance, which is reflected in his price. (Full details to be provided).

Sadly now my children are older and competing regularly I need to ride their ponies and I just don’t have the time for him. Therefore is a heart-breaking sale of a beautiful, affectionate and very much loved horse who will only go to the very best of homes.

Good on the ground , hacks alone or in company, good in traffic (can have the odd spook) and good to shoe , box , catch & clip.

He is a young competition horse and needs to be kept in regular work and turnout as otherwise can be sharp, but is fine with an experienced rider. Therefore no novices please.

£5k Price Negotiable to the right, caring, long term home. No loans or LWBTB

Tack available. Serious enquiries only.
