This striking lad just oozes quality. With straight movement, clean legs and 10 inches of bone, Max is a serious HOYS centre line Maxi prospect or top contender for Draught classes - He moves with power and rhythm, his presence turning heads wherever he goes.

He has just started his dressage training, which is made easy by his exceptionally trainable brain - a lovely active walk, a flowing trot and a naturally well balanced canter - the judges are going to love him whether he is in the dressage arena or the show ring!

Max is safe to ride in open spaces and was impeccably behaved for his morning out with the hounds, where he received many compliments on his fabulous manners and temperament.

He is excellent to hack - patient to open gates and great in traffic - he passes donkeys and barking dogs, taking everything in his stride with an exceptional attitude.

Max has a soft snaffle mouth, and is a real armchair ride on top of all of this

Gaston has mainly been used as a happy hacker for the last 3 years, attending pleasure/endurance rides, and also unaffiliated dressage.

We took him to an arena hire yesterday where he behaved really well, jumped some little show jumps, not looking at any of the fillers, and then went happily over ditches, up/down steps, and through water without any hesitation or need for a lead.

He hacks very well, is good in traffic. He is easy to catch/box/clip/shoe etc. Lives in or out. A very straightforward horse to have around the yard.

We think Gaston will make someone a lovely, fun allrounder.

Jack is a super sports cob! 

He came from Ireland as a 4 yo, he has been beautifully produced and this shows in his flat work where he has 3 balanced paces, he is active and expressive. He knows some lateral work and his changes are there too.

Jack also jumps! He is straightforward to a fence and enjoys it.

He also enjoys hunting, he’s been out with the Essex and Suffolk.

He has done some showing and dressage. Beach rides and hacking in more recent years but Jack will turn his hoof to anything!

He is a doddle to have around, you can clip him without even tying him up.

He is a competition hose though and would not suit a complete novice, he would be wasted and he has so many rosettes to win!!!

King – Big Heart, Huge Potential, Looking for His Forever Person

King is a much-loved horse who is only available due to no fault of his own. This has been a very difficult decision, but my daughter’s health issues have meant she has been unable to ride, and she no longer has the confidence he truly deserves. Our absolute priority is finding him the right, knowledgeable home.

We purchased King in July 2025 from Smart Performance Horses (Sam Walton) for my daughter. Since then, he has been ridden regularly (around 4 times a week) by a loaner — usually schooling or hacking, weather dependent, especially over winter.
 

About King

King has the biggest heart and forms a strong bond with his rider. He is kind and not malicious in any way, but he does need a confident, reassuring person to bring out his best. He thrives on routine and enjoys having a job — keeping him mentally stimulated really suits him.

He works beautifully in the school, is responsive to leg and voice, and is willing and trainable.

He loves hacking and will go alone or in company. He can be a little more aware when alone, but he continues to improve with consistency. He has previously hunted and enjoys being out and about.

King can be spooky at times, but this is improving steadily with regular work and confident handling.

He is currently kept on a working farm and is completely used to sheep, farm machinery and general activity.

10 year old 16.1 gelding for sale. Max is an Irish sports cob who was imported from Ireland 5 years ago to be a mother daughter share, however my daughter is now giving up and he his too good to just be a happy hacker with me.

In the 5 years that we have owned Max he has been to regular clinics, fun rides, camps, hunting, dressage and county shows regularly coming home with rosettes. He hacks out alone and in company, where he is happy to be first or last.

Jumping is one of his favourite things, he will jump anything and gives his rider lots of confidence. He is currently jumping at 80cm but has scope to go bigger.

We regularly refer to Max as a bit of a turbo cob as he enjoys his work and is very much more go than woah therefore not for a novice/nervous rider. He does best when he has a job and would turn his hoof to anything. A pony club/hunting/competition home would be his idea of heaven.
