Registered Welsh Section A, 12.2hh 15yrs. Barefoot, good with farrier.
I have owned Dora for 6 years since purchasing her from a friend. (the last 2yrs she has been on loan)
Dora was produced to be a show pony and has lots of experience in this discipline. We are not as enthusiastic about showing so since we have owned her, Dora has experienced a lot of life.
Jumping,
Pony Club,
clinics,
group lessons,
hacking,
Pub visits,
forest rides,
beach rides and
camping holidays in the forest.
We took her everywhere and had so much fun. Dora loves to go out and about, especially hacking! She will confidently hack in company or go out alone with me walking or on a bike and with our dog. (She has never been out completely alone as her riders have all been little ones.) She perfect in traffic.
She happily jumps cross poles.
She really loves an outing, I have only ever travelled her in a trailer but she has travelled fine in a box.
Dora is fine with dogs, bikes, footballs, rowdy kids, there’s not much that phases her. You can take her anywhere.
I would recommend Dora as a lead rein pony. She is very careful with her little humans but she does require her independent rider to have strength and persistence to make her work well so can be very frustrating for a child coming off lead rein. For this reason she’s not ideal as a first ridden, however she was my daughters and my friends daughters leadrein and first ridden and has produced some excellent strong, resilient riders. She likes to do the bare minimum! She is perfect on the leadrein.
Dora is a princess! She likes to have pony friends around her but not too close. She would require a field of her own until she is familiar with her friends.
Health: Dora has had Laminitis. She had it once before I owned her, I managed her really well for 4 years but unfortunately in her loan home, she suffered another bout. It was discovered that she has EMS and requires half a tablet of Prascend a day in her feed. I am very happy to discuss her management with her new owner.
Luckily Dora is happy being stabled. She loves a busy yard with lots going on as she is very nosey but will be happy on a smaller yard as long as she can see her friends. She does spend time alone with a haynet/distraction.
She also has a few lumps which she has had for 4+ years with no change.
Dora will require regular work and stimulation. Activity is the key to managing her laminitis. She’s not the sort of pony that can be used a couple of times a month, she gets bored. She really needs to be a family’s full time fun pony and she will give so much fun and happy memories in return.
Up to date with teeth, farrier and vaccinations.
Ideally I’d love her to find a loving new family in East Anglia and would like to keep in touch by txt/email.
Dora really is very special to us but is wasted now without another little person to teach and have fun with.
Asking price includes tack (fitted saddle and micklem bridle). Price could be negotiable for the right home.
I might not be able to answer calls so please leave a message or Txt/whats app.
