Mac is a beautifully put-together horse with exceptional presence, excellent conformation, and an eye-catching way of going — a true standout wherever he goes.

Exceptional Breeding:

Mac is out of Jasmin, our cherished foundation mare whose progeny have consistently excelled, including winners at 1.40m level. Jasmin is by Up To Date, a proven sire of elite showjumpers.

His sire is the exceptional Waldo Van Dungen (173cm, Grade A), known for producing top sport horses in both show jumping and eventing.

Bloodlines include:

• Tolano van ’t Riethof (Chin Chin) × Concorde
• Notable offspring include Ellen Whitaker’s Arena UK Winston and Oli Fletcher’s Hello William.

With his pedigree and build, Mac has the potential to succeed in any competitive sphere — from eventing or show jumping to working hunter or even dressage or American hunter classes.

On the flat, he works in a lovely rhythm and frame, and would not look out of place in a dressage or hunter ring.

• Mac has a genuine and affectionate personality — he loves attention, fuss, and even a bath!
• He hacks confidently alone and in company, with access to excellent off-road hacking at our base on the London/Essex border (we do not ride on roads).

Although very straightforward, he is still green due to his age and is therefore not suitable for a novice or complete amateur. He is ready to be produced further by a competent rider looking for a quality, unspoilt young horse.

We are thrilled to announce that Julian Mincher Equestrian now has its very own premises on the London/Essex border. We have recently settled into our new home at Aldborough Hall Equestrian and are excited about the future.

Since moving in, we’ve carried out extensive renovations, including transforming the indoor arena, which now boasts a state-of-the-art Andrews Bowen jumping surface.

This is truly a magical place, located just 12 miles from Trafalgar Square with excellent access to motorways and transport networks. The Central and Elizabeth Underground lines are just a mile from our yard, with Fairlop station being the nearest. From there, you can enjoy a scenic walk directly across Fairlop Waters to reach us.

Set within over 50 acres of stunning parkland, Aldborough Hall Equestrian is a charming retreat. The stables are arranged in a traditional courtyard surrounding a tranquil garden. Our indoor arena measures an impressive 60 x 25 metres, while the outdoor arena, set to undergo refurbishments in spring 2025, is a generous 100 x 60 metres. The grounds also feature a variety of permanent cross-country fences, adding to the diverse training opportunities available.

One of the highlights of Aldborough Hall is the exceptional hacking. A private track leads directly from the yard onto Fairlop Waters, where you’ll find an all-weather track that extends for miles in a circular route, ideal for year-round use. Additionally, there are grass canter tracks throughout the park, providing variety for schooling and a welcome change from arena work—all without the worry of encountering traffic.

We feel incredibly fortunate to call Aldborough Hall Equestrian our home and are delighted to share this wonderful place with our clients and horses.

16h, 6 yo Irish mare, this lovely lady has been an absolute pleasure to have on the yard here for two and a half years! In the time she has been here she has completely grown into herself, we have all enjoyed seeing her grow and progress and I have loved getting her out and about.  

Orla has the most fabulous temperament, she’s incredibly kind, sweet and gentle and is very easy to have on the yard. A forward thinking, bold mare, she loves a job and just wants to get on with her work and so does need a rider who is confident, sympathetic and is not going to swing off the front end of her!  

Orla and I have done lots of dressage, she has 32 BD points with wins and regular placings, qualifying for Summer and Winter Petplans Champs and being placed. She would be incredibly competitive at Prelim Bronze level and has been training at Novice level and working on more lateral work at home. She is a joy to take out in the lorry, travels well and ties up patiently.  

Orla loves to jump a fence whether it is XC or coloured poles. Forward, keen and not spooky, she is great with ditches, water, steps, water trays and fillers, she has the scope to go on and do BS, BN and Discovery, as she progresses through her training she will easily do BE/Cotswold Cup 90 and 100 with the right rider and is a certainty for all Riding Club teams and Championships. 

Placed in Combined Training and Horse Trials, only missed out on the win at her very first One Day Event as a 5 yo (25 dr DC) with a few time penalties due to me going steady on the XC to give her a good outing. She’s now a cross country machine, point and shoot and has absolutely no problem getting inside the time!  

Orla is fab out hacking, loves to lead the way, is good in traffic and likes to crack on, she is not at all mareish, she rides and leads as either the leader or leadee, she is always happy in her work, keener if in behind but not one jot of nastiness. If she has time off she is safe to get straight on and hack out, she stands like a rock at the mounting block, doesn’t mind being on the yard on her own.  

She’s always pleased to see you and is the first one to come cantering over to be caught, goes out in the field with mares and geldings, leads in in a group and always does everything with a smile on her face. 

The right rider for this beautiful lady would be a confident, experienced and sympathetic rider, someone who knows how to ride from their leg to a soft hand, I hack her everywhere on a loose rein because I trust her completely but she would get hot to ride if someone grabbed hold of her.
