NEWGRANGE DANDY MAN – “RUFUS”

15.1hh | 8yo | Full Connemara Gelding

Sire – Boyne Valley Woody | NN Hoof Wall

Lovely, genuine Connemara all-rounder with a particular talent for dressage.

Rufus has been ridden by a variety of riders and has plenty of experience at clinics, camps and competitions across all three disciplines.

Dressage is where he really shines, scoring 70.4% at the Pony Club Area 6 qualifiers and qualifying for the Pony Club National Dressage Championships, where he finished 11th in the Novice.

He also qualified at his first attempt for the BRC Eventing Championships at Swalcliffe, following a 24.8 dressage, clear XC and one pole SJ at Epworth.

Rufus hacks alone and in company and is good in traffic, including HGVs and tractors.

He is safe, willing and a lovely character, but he isn’t always the bravest and therefore needs a kind and confident rider

A very sad sale of a much-loved horse, so finding the right home is extremely important.

Rufus does have some medical history, which will be fully and openly disclosed.

Can come with his full wardrobe.

• Hunting is where Bean is truly in his element. He absolutely adores it and hunts beautifully

15.1½hh Connemara X | 9yo gelding

⭐ Fantastic hunter

⭐ Safe and sensible hack

⭐ Loves his jumping

⭐ Kind, funny character with bags of personality

Bean is a very smart, substantial Connemara X gelding with a leg in each corner and the kindest nature. He is a real character and very much loved, so this is an incredibly difficult sale through absolutely no fault of his own.

He would suit a confident, capable rider looking for a genuine all-rounder to hunt, hack, jump, attend clinics and generally have plenty of fun with.

He is excellent to hack, alone or in company, and is confident in all types of traffic, including busy roads. He has also been away to the beach, where he was absolutely brilliant.

Hunting is where Bean is truly in his element. He absolutely adores it and hunts beautifully. He can be keen and excited initially, but after his first canter he is generally happy to settle and cruise along on the buckle. He hunts in a Universal gag for a little extra security but has also been hound exercising happily in his snaffle.

Bean also loves to jump, and this is where his personality really shines. He has attended clinics and arena hires, previously jumping around 70cm, and more recently has been competing at 80cm and schooling confidently around 90cm. He can get strong when excited, but there is nothing nasty or dangerous about him. With fillers and cross-country questions he takes confidence from his rider, particularly as he hasn’t done huge amounts of XC, but he shows plenty of potential.

Flatwork is not his favourite pastime — Bean thinks schooling is rather boring! However, he has three established, quality paces and is capable of producing a very respectable dressage test. He regularly receives lovely comments about his movement, and when everything comes together he feels fabulous.

Bean is cold-backed when mounting. He has been fully investigated and is not in pain; it is considered a learned behaviour. We have an established mounting routine which works well and I am very happy to explain this fully to anyone genuinely interested. This is reflected in his price.

On the ground, Bean has the sweetest, gentlest soul and is regularly handled by my 8-year-old son. He is affectionate, entertaining and occasionally a complete drama queen!

He is good to groom, stable and handle. He clips well with a quiet approach — his face used to worry him but he now accepts it calmly. He generally loads well, although occasionally appreciates a little encouragement from behind. He is good to catch 9 times out of 10; on the tenth occasion he may decide you are a horse-eating witch, but patience and a Polo soon remind him otherwise!

He is excellent for the farrier, vet and other professionals. He is currently fully shod and up to date with vaccinations and teeth. He can live in or out and has previously lived out 24/7 through the winter.

Bean has been ridden in a snaffle for everything except hunting.

This is an exceptionally sad sale and there will be many tears when he goes. If I could keep Beanie in the back garden as a pet, I genuinely would. He will only go to a knowledgeable, 5⭐ home, and finding the right person is far more important than selling quickly.

15.1 Connie X (Green ISH Passport) Well bred, 3 year old Mare ~ TREENAGHS SHADOW

The time has come to sadly sell on our gorgeous Orla🤍

Orla was bought from Ireland as an untouched 2 year old in March to produce over the summer and now is ready for the next stage in her life! Throughout the time I’ve owned her she has filled out and matured into a lovely young horse.

She is so friendly, the first to come running to you in the field, and always loves cuddles. Orla was very unhandled when we first bought her however has took perfectly to everything we’ve asked of her and blossomed into a lovely little character. She is great to catch, good for the farrier (barefoot) and vet, loads perfectly, good to bath and will stand to be brushed all day.

Over the summer, we have long reined, backed and started her under saddle, which she has taken all in her stride perfectly! Orla has been produced slowly and professionally and we haven’t had a moments bother with her.

She has been long reined and ridden around all the farms back fields out on hacks as well as in the arena. Not fazed by farm machinery etc. She stands perfectly at the mounting block and isn’t nervous or skittish at all with a rider on.

We haven’t done loads of work in the arena with her due to her age however have established the basics- walked and trotted around fine and over poles. Orla has been out alone and in company hacking and had some little canters.

Orla hasn’t done masses of ridden work, just lightly been worked and ridden away since being broke in. We have also free jumped her and she shows great jumping potential with a lovely shape over a fence and a neat backend.

No novices for Orla as she is still of course a young, green horse and I would love for her to go to a long term knowledgeable home.

Quality 15hh Rising 5yo Mare - an old head on young shoulders!

Harley is a very pretty 15hh mare with an excellent temperament and a lovely attitude to her work.

She is very easy to do in all ways and has an extremely straightforward nature. She is good to load, clip and with the farrier, and is currently happily barefoot.

She completed her first GoBE80 recently finishing 3rd with an impressive 26 dressage, showing so much potential for the future. She has also produced multiple clear rounds showjumping and is proving to be a genuine, willing and capable horse.

A lovely mare with a bright future ahead of her, who would suit someone looking for a talented horse to progress with. She would make an ideal PC pony or would equally suit a small adult.

We purchased her from her breeder as a 3yo so full history is known.

• An incredibly smart, sporty type of a Connemara with three correct, expressive paces
• Has all the potential to be a top class all rounder / BE / BD/ RC / Cotswold Cup

Super smart and super sweet!

Currently standing at 15h, 4 years old and a registered Connemara gelding this stunning chap has a ton of potential.

Quietly backed in the Spring after arriving from Ireland, Razzle has been very much enjoying hacking out, seeing the sights and learning what life is all about.

He always has a smile on his face with his work, he stands like an absolute saint at the mounting block every time and waits happily while you sort your pedals and knitting out, he leads the way very happily out hacking or doodles along behind and doesn’t even flick an ear when he is upsides another horse. He’s very happy to wait around patiently while you have a chat with the neighbours in the sunshine out on your hack, he canters happily in behind and doesn’t over react or rush if his friend gets a bit ahead of him, he just carries on his steady yet still forward thinking way!

One of his videos is of him having a jolly around the arena away from home (and having his first go over a few poles on the ground!) for the first time where he behaved impeccably with no spookiness whatsoever after hanging around patiently waiting while I did videos of his pal. He rides and leads extremely well without a thought in his head of pulling you around.

Razzle then had a couple of months off over the summer to chill out and came back into work gently in August taking it all in his stride. He has never been pushed in his education, he’s been given the time to progress and develop, he’s mainly hacked and has done very little in the school, allowing his frame to strengthen up. Videos are available from the very start of his education. Razzle works well on the long reins, even in an open field, he is good for the farrier to have his feet trimmed and he is great to catch and lead in from the field, either on his own or with another one. He doesn’t mind one bit if you turn all his friends out and leave him on his own on the yard or if you bring his friends in and leave him in the field on his own.

Razzle is an incredibly smart, sporty type of a Connemara with three correct, expressive paces, his canter eats up the ground and he has all the potential to be a top class all rounder for an experienced rider to bring on to do BE/BD/RC/Cotswold Cup/Grassroots.

Obviously he’s green (he is allowed to be, he has just started his education) but he is a very kind chap who is more push than whoosh while still being responsive. He had his first step over a jump under saddle only today (17/09/26) and trotted over in a very kind and sweet way.

Razzle is happy living in or out, follows you round the field while you poo pick, ties up patiently on the yard for a groom and to tack up and loves a cuddle. He is a young man who likes to trust his human so a new partner with a sympathetic, confident and gentle hand is his ideal, someone who understands that to get the best out of a youngster they need time to understand and be shown the way and who is able to ride in a balanced and confident fashion allowing those big paces time to develop.

With all the basics of education in place without having rushed him (he’s had no gadgets on him nor has he been reeled into an unnecessary frame while his bones are developing) he’s the perfect blank canvas for someone to very much enjoy bringing on and getting to know and love him.
