An incredibly difficult sale of a once in a lifetime horse.

Smartie has taken me from jumping 1.10 4 yr old classes to taking me to jump the biggest 6 yr old tracks in Ireland and jumping upto 135. He is ultra brave never says no. Has an unbelievable canter and perfect changes. He has truly been the perfect partner for me, teaching me the ropes of the top end of the sport whilst always staying honest, genuine and brave, filling me with confidence with every round. He had also evented and in his only EI event this year he was double clear with a dressage of 17!

Smartie is the most genuine horse I’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting on, he is always willing to jump from wherever I ask him to. He has saved me multiple times, with a smile on his face doing so! His bravery and honesty is something that he maintains whether he is jumping a 1 m or 1.35 Making him a fantastic confidence giver.

At home and out of the ring he is just as much of a gentleman. He is easy to handle/do in all ways. He is loved by everyone who handles/knows him.

We have had the pleasure of owning Smartie for nearly 5 years and full history is known.

I truly believe that Smartie is the blueprint for someone wanting the perfect JRN horse or grass routes or young rider wanting to learn about the top level of the sport. Equally he would be a valuable and reliable asset to keen amateur.

Smartie has and will windsuck. Never in the field but does in the stable. This has never affected him or his performance.

Ballyneety Cavalier Imp (Lily) is the most fantastic jumping horse we’ve had in our yard for a long time. 6 double clears since mid May ‘25 when she came to us. Not evented the first part of ‘25 due to rider’s skiing accident.

Dressage (in a plastic straight bar) this year has been mainly low 30s. Jumping is this mare’s game. Goes easily in a cheekpiece Waterford without being overly strong. Absolutely straight on a line, looks for the flags. Careful and cat like. If you want to have fun eventing this is your horse!

Long term, Lily is a wonderful broodmare prospect as she is beautifully bred.

Castlerichmond BB (stable name Bea) Has done lots of British Showjumping, Team Chasing, Combined training and Evented round CC and GoBE90 with scope to go up the levels. I’ve taken more of an interest in BS this year and we’ve had 2nd place at Hickstead and also qualified for the National 1.05m Championship at the British Showjumping National Championships.

Henley is a striking, kind, and sensible 16.1hh 7-year-old Irish Sport Horse (Green Book) by Dunbeggan Grey Mist, out of a thoroughbred mare. Carefully and correctly produced with the help of a professional rider, he’s been brought on slowly with longevity and soundness in mind.

Flat:
Henley is working sweetly on the flat in a soft, elastic contact. He has flashy, expressive paces and has started lateral work. Not sharp, more of a leg on type. He’s competed successfully unaffiliated, regularly scoring in the high 60s and 70s, placing or winning.

Jump:
He has taken part in arena hires, clinics, camps, ODE, SJ and XC. Jumping 1m at home and 85cm competitively currently. Bold and honest to a fence, he has great technique, scope, and never gets strong or silly. While he still has the occasional green moment he is brave and straightforward.

Temperament & Suitability:
Henley is full of character and loves a cuddle! He’s never sharp and has a trainable attitude, a sensible horse who enjoys variety in his work. He hacks out confidently, happy alone or in company, not bothered by farm or road traffic, and has been a confidence-giver to a more nervous rider, particularly on the roads. In the school, he will also step down and look after a less experienced rider, although he is best suited to an experienced, competitive home with a competent amateur or professional who can continue his learning and reach his full potential.

Outstanding recent record eventing and brilliant showjumping.

Previously showjumped up to 1.20 with scope for more. She would easily go down the showjumping route and jump big tracks. Evented up to novice level and is very competitive at this level. Equally with right training would go further.

Buddy is lovely to handle and amazing on the ground. He is friendly and mannerly, a very chilled character to have in the yard and paddock and is often handled by children.

Not for novices as still needs education himself. He is not “sharp” or “dangerous” just still needs to continue in his education.

8 year old 17.2hh gelding by Diamond Graaf (Burggraaf x Diamond Lad (King of Diamonds))

Jaeger is an incredibly talented horse with huge amounts of athleticism and scope. He has correct and expressive movement on the flat and huge amounts of power. He has been produced correctly and slowly given his size.

He has recently started his British Dressage career with 2 wins and 71% and 70.5% on his first outing as well as qualifying for the Prelim Silver Regional Championship in his first weekend of BD. Dressage judges in both pure dressage and eventing are always impressed by him and consistently score him 70%+ with a huge amount of potential for more. He moves well enough to do pure dressage and move through the levels very quickly.

Jaeger has won at British Novice, double clears at Discovery and has jumped upto 1.10m on a ticket. He has jumped over 1.30m tracks at home and has serious scope for more however has not been overjumped as he has needed the time to learn to manage his scope and incredibly active and powerful leg before jumping bigger tracks.

Jaeger is straightforward to ride on the flat, he is very well schooled and balanced so sits nicely between your hand and leg. He is very responsive and light to ride, I’m 5’2 and have gotten on really well with him. He’s a blood horse but is safe and straightforward, doesn’t buck, rear, nap etc. Incredibly fun to school and ride as you’re working with real quality. I’ve ridden him almost everyday for the past 4 years and I still get excited to sit on him. He is also a xc machine and absolutely loves it. Ditches/water/steps all super confident and gives the most incredible feeling over xc.

He is priced slightly lower as I haven’t been able to crack that last bit of consistency in the showjumping ring with him to build an affiliated record. He schools and warms up beautifully and absolutely loves going to shows but very occasionally will have a stop. Maybe I’m just missing a trick! He will always jump it the second time. Horses with this level of raw talent and quality do not come along in this price range, it is purely because I haven’t been able to crack that last bit of consistency in the ring with him to build an affiliated record that he is priced like this.

Lovely to handle on the ground and super easy to do everything with, I absolutely adore him and he is a real gentle giant. Will stand all day on the lorry alone or in company. Good to bath, clip, farrier, dentists etc. He doesn’t need a strict routine and doesn’t need riding everyday to be kept sane, can have a week off and pick straight back up where you left off. Good to hack alone and in company.

He is very quick with his feet and the combination of light footedness and raw power isn’t something that comes along very often. He is super careful and makes every effort to not touch a pole. He’s got enough scope and brain to take off from anywhere and sort himself out. Once he trusts his rider he does a lot for you. It will take a week or so for him to relax into his jumping with a new person, he great on the flat but he will be tense in the viewing over jumps with a new person so please do not come expecting to pop him over bigger courses as he needs time to relax with a new rider and equally for the new rider to learn how best to ride him.

Someone that takes the time to build a bond with him will have a serious competition horse either in dressage, showjumping or eventing.

He is hands down the most talent horse I have ever sat on and I will probably never come across one with this much raw talent and scope but I now need to focus on my number of homebreds that are starting their ridden career and focus on the young horse classes. I did initially buy Jaeger to sell but fell in love with him and kept him.

Passed a 5 stage vetting when I purchased him in 2021. He’s a strong, sound horse with no lumps or bumps. Open to vetting etc.

I cannot say enough good things about this horse, Joey is the ultimate amateur dream, he is as straightforward as they come but has so much scope and jump.

Joey goes on absolutely any stride, and will do his best to keep the fences up, has all 4 discovery double clears and is quick in a jump off, point him at a jump and he will take you over. 

Never strong (goes in a rubber snaffle) and is so forgiving, has given me all my confidence back and is the perfect first horse for someone off ponies or an amateur wanting to be competitive, has a horse stride but also the pony brain and 5th leg. 

Will move up levels easily or be a competitive bronze league winner

3 flashy balanced paces on the flat works in a smart outline and produces a very smart test. 

This horse will qualify for badminton if given the chance, basic lateral work started and responsive but also not hot/sharp. Been ridden by novices and looks after everyone

Hacks alone and in company, Angel in traffic (crosses the A217) and perfect in open spaces, goes in front or behind and never spooky or sharp.

Previously hunted by a lady where he behaved perfectly and stood politely and jumped all asked of him.

Good to do in all ways, loads and travels well stands politely and just an all round champ, can’t not fall in love with him!
