Stunning homebred chestnut Colt, Dancing Duke out of homebred Mare, Dancing Duchess (75% TB - 25% Arab) - (by Daws Firebird). Duchess has been an exceptional allrounder and is the 7th generation of a line bred by my grandmother.

Duke carries himself beautifully, showing exceptional movement, grace and cadence - his innate character is inquisitive and bold, left brain and confident. An exceptional character to train for whatever discipline. Would excel in the eventing world, or dressage world due to his phenomenal breeding. See below for more information.

Duke's sire is Catherston Liberator (75% TB), whose Thoroughbred sire was Liboi.

Catherston Liberator was an extremely tough, sound race horse who raced for no less than 8 seasons. Liberator’s mother was the Grade B showjumper, Catherston Jetstream by Jashin. Liberator fulfilled his early promise by attaining Advanced status Eventing and Prix St George standard in Dressage. In Eventing he won at Novice on only his second outing followed by leading after Dr and SJ at Mattingley in the 2**. That season finished with him winning the Aldon 2 day event by 11 points!!!! The following year started with him winning the Novice at Tweseldown, followed by 3 consecutive wins at Intermediate {Longleat, Sommerley and Wilton}. An incredible record, even by modern day standards.

In the Dressage arena Catherston Libertor competed at Advanced gaining over 450 BD points and followed in his mother’s hoof prints in the show jumping ring winning £346, qualifying for the Winter Novice Championships at Hickstead where he was 2nd in the Grade C competition.

If his own performance record isn’t enough he is also one of THE most consistent sires of top level competition horses. He has a number of Advanced eventers to his credit including the double 3*** {old rating} winner in America, the British Bred Tregarth and in the UK most recently Xavier Faer who was 3rd at Badminton 2018.

So here you have one of the very few Elite stallions who possesses ¾ Thoroughbred blood, has competed himself at the highest level and has sired numerous top competition horses, both in the UK and world wide.

Tarry Flynn (2021) is a chestnut colt. He has an attractive head and neck, a very good shoulder, top line and back and powerful quarters. He achieved an Elite grading at SHBGB Futurity Evaluation (2021) and ranked third highest of all foals presented that year in his category. He shows great natural balance. His walk is active with nice suspension and his trot is very elevated. His canter is very expressive and adjustable. Tarry Flynn was awarded 9 for his walk, 9.25 for his trot and 9.5 for his canter at grading. This stunning young horse is straightforward to handle. He is proving respectful and calm headed and takes life as it comes. He loads and travels easily. He is proving trainable in the small amount of work he has done. He has exceptional athleticism, immense presence and self-carriage. He is bold and careful and has a light an easy gallop. He finished his eventing career one point off Advanced. Timolin now competes solely in dressage. He has successes at National Grand Prix and an international career in the offing. Totilas, sire of Timolin, (Grandsire of Tarry Flynn) was one of the most outstanding competitive dressage horses in the world, the first horse to score above 90 in international dressage competition and the former holder of the world record for the highest dressage score in Grand Prix Freestyle. Timolin’s dam line carries further eventing talent to 3* level.

Tarry Flynn’s dam, Tayvale Illusion, is a SHBGB Premium Graded Mare. She has an excellent front and length of neck, well defined topline and very good quarters. She has expressive paces with great extension and adjustability. She too oozes presence and has abundant scope and quality. A “beautiful” mare. Thorough groundwork has been done with this filly (Rosa). She has been bitted and shown in hand doing everything asked of her. She learns extremely quickly. She is currently in a farmyard setting and so seeing machinery and is walked along roads for introduction to traffic.

Someone is going to make a stunning horse out of this girl, for us, we are concentrating on pony club and feel that she needs more experienced hands to take her forwards and produce her as the horse she could be.

Rosa sustained a field injury last year and this has left her with a small bump on her leg. Xrays conclude that this is just cosmetic and massage is reducing the tissue. This is reflected in her price.
